The weekender chrono doesn't tick obnoxiously like a standard weekender. The leather Nato isn't super high quality but does the trick on a budget. It's $44 on Amazon right now: Timex Unisex TW2P62300 Weekender Chrono Oversize Tan Leather NATO Slip-Thru Strap Watch [link]
That's totally fair. I use the chrono every day when I read and time audio ad scripts my company produces, so for me it was kind of a blessing in the end.
As said below, they do look cool as well.
This is the one I have
Haha! I just bought a chrono Weekender, simply because I couldn't beat the price. Thanks for the suggestion!
I have a $150 AUD Lorus watch but am looking to pick up a cheaper but still nice watch for wearing to work (where it gets banged around a bit).
I've pretty much decided on this Timex Weekender, but want to change the strap.
Any recommendations for a nice, breathable watch strap that is casual?
I recently got this watch: Timex Unisex TW2P623009J Weekender Forty Analog Display Analog Quartz Brown Watch [link]
The face is very dark navy. I'm looking to switch out the strap to something other than brown, any color or type recommendations?
I appreciate the kindness, but it's completely your call what you would or wouldn't wear. It's this exact model, and I replaced the strap with a nicer two-piece leather strap.
The case is 40mm, it has a date window at 4 o'clock, and the chronograph tracks seconds, minutes, and hours. It's quartz.
Thanks for the input. I saw that there were a bunch of mixed reviews as well and I'd rather not have any hassle right now. I'm leaning towards the Timex Weekender Chronometer right now.
Is this the exact watch you bought? I want the one in your picture but I can't find it with the same color leather.
This TIMEX is pretty damn close to the Runwell Chrono.
I've compared them side by side and, save for the much nicer leather strap and the slightly better finishing, the Shinola is not worth almost $750 more.
The Waterbury that u/Finchios recommended is even closer.
yeah, for example the below (the blue nylon band) is $50 on amazon now. not offered in the massdrop, but same watch.
Bernin, I'd highly recommend picking up the Timex Expedition this guy's peddlin' if the price is right. It's a great watch and very comfortable.
If that's not your fancy, I have a Timex Weekender Chronograph with a Blue Dial and tan leather band (like this one: [link])
I'd be willing to let it go for the price to flat-rate it to you assuming you're in the US.
Hey! So I was looking to buy a simple and elegant watch and I came across the Timex Weekender Chrono. Finding it hard to decide between the blue and black varients.
Would love to hear your opinion (and maybe other recommendations at a similar price point)!

The Timex Weekender Chrono doesn't have the tick that standard Weekender does.
That's a lot of money for a ho-hum quartz watch. tbh your Timex is fine. There are a lot of nicer quartz Timex's that look good with suits and such all the way down to bizcaz for work. You can get into automatic watches if you want, but if you don't care to pay for them I would recommend against it. Check these out:

Left field, have you thought about the Weekender Chrono? Great watch for cheap.
I have a Timex Weekender Chrono that is in excellent cosmetic shape, ~~but unfortunately the chrono seconds hand resets to :59 instead of :00 (which might not bother you)~~. The chrono is, however, fully functional. It's on a tan leather two-piece strap that I had from a previous watch, which is much sturdier than the stock Timex band.
It is shown on the left in this pic.
~~Because of the defect, I'm offering a significant discount. $25 shipped.~~
EDIT: /u/beck1670 just showed me how to reset the chrono seconds hand, so I am now selling it for the non-defective price of $50 shipped, including the upgraded strap.
New watch buyer here, I'm still in highschool.
I just earned some money and I want to buy a nicer yet still casual watch for school
I really like Shinola watches, but they are incredibly out of my price range!.
My budget is from 0-200 max.
I am truly lost on what I should buy, but here are some that I like so far:
Are any of these good? Does something better exist that is still within my price range? I'd love it to last and have a durable glass/crystal; scratches really annoy me :P
Thanks for your time!
Can anyone give a suggestion? Trying to decide between these four as my "everyday" watch. I'm only going to pick one up.
Help! which should I get? '
FYI: They also have a Weekender Chronograph that is currently on sale for $45 Amazon Link
