Hey everyone! I've been fretting over a bunch of different watches and finally settled on this one. I love the dark blue face and Timex's "indiglo" light-up display. I got it off Amazon along with a black leather strap. Not sure I would like the "10" being cut off by the chronograph, but I think it's growing on me.
Let me know if this brown leather strap works with the blue or if you think the black may be better.
I'm brand new to the watch game except for a digital casio in middle school, so if any one has wisdom they would like to impart on a newbie please throw it at me!
Looking to get a Timex Chrono Weekender as a gift for my brother. I was looking at this blue color, but couldn't decide if the strap is too dark or if I should try and buy a seperate strap that is more light/tan?
Looking for a leather band, blue face, probably battery-powered since I won't be wearing it every day, with a 36-38 dial. The simpler the face the better. Something that can be worn casually and at work (slacks, button up, sweaters sometimes). Budget $50-$300.
e.g. like this but simpler and probably a bit dressier: [link]
I have this one https://www.amazon.com/Timex-TW2R63200-Weekender-Double-Layered-Slip-Thru/dp/B072L3ZW39/ and its very versatile. Wear it pretty much every day (except suit days, for those I break out my cream faced, thinner watch). It's not restrictive at all.
Recommend immediately tossing the leather strap that comes with it. Feels like a bandaid. Replace with some basic NATO straps (white/blue, blue/red, white/blue/red, black/grey, olive, etc).
I get compliments on my Timex Weekender Chrono very often. "Can't stop looking at it", a friend said the other day.
You're really limited to Orient and Seiko if you want an auto under $200. Not saying they're bad choices, they're actually pretty great. But I get the feeling they're not your thing.
In that case, how about the Timex Weekender Chrono line?
Or the Timex Weekender Fairfield?
Or the Timex Easy Reader?
Or this sexy Tissot if you want a Swiss made quartz
Second post about this in 24 hrs. I'm looking for a quartz weekend watch under $50 and I narrowed it down to two. Which one would YOU get?
