This thing should be given free of charge to every new parent. It saved our sanity once kiddo #1 started crawling. Kiddo #2 should be crawling soon and it will once again be a lifesaver.
The Great British Baking Show...for some reason I can put it on and my three year old doesn't mind it (and by that I mean...if he's yelling about watching whatever, I can tell him that I'm gonna watch my show, put it on, and it's all okay lol). Plus the music is calming and the colors are bright and fun. Just brightens my day to have it on in the background all day.
Oooh edited to add: my amazing baby gate. It's this one on Amazon and it is a life saver. I can connect it all and have a baby pen, I can bend each piece or unhook pieces to fit the location I need blocked (usually secured behind heavy furniture), and it doesn't have easy foot holes to climb. Love it!
It is!!! We absolutely love it - this is our second baby and it’s still holding strong. It’s awesome because it comes apart and was very handy for protecting the Christmas tree from curious baby hands
We call it baby jail 😂

Freestanding. 34.4 sq. ft. enclosure (26" Tall, Multicolor) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006NTY1HU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_KDBK929C7B7E4HFDX7QP?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I have this one and love it! It’s big enough and I can shape it how I need. I just step over it when needed. The entire area is totally baby safe so I can put her down in our movie room where there are wires everywhere and see her from the kitchen.

You can set up one of these around that corner. The adults can move it, step over, or there is a gate panel that you can buy as an add on.
I have a 5 month old and work from home also. I would use a children's play gate for him while I worked. When he hit 3 months I removed the pen and now he just sleeps by my side as I work.
I take him for 4 walks a day (7AM, 10:30AM, 4PM, 7:30PM). It's only around the block in our neighborhood. Walk takes 10-15 min (depending how many times he finds a stick to lay down and chew on, which I give him that luxury for now).
On my lunch break, I bring him to a nearby dog park for 45 minutes (gated, off leash, can run).
My advice is to crate train him while you are doing stuff around the house 15-20 min intervals so he gets use to it. Don't respond to his barking because he will think that if he barks you let him out (cause and effect).Hopefully he gets better. Use a lick Matt and put it in the crate with him so he associates his crate with good things. Also, the children's pen might help.

This is the one we have - we got it off of Facebook Marketplace for a steal. https://smile.amazon.com/North-States-Superyard-Colorplay-8-Panel/dp/B006NTY1HU/ref=sr\_1\_5?keywords=northstar+baby+play+yard&qid=1646941538&sprefix=northstar+baby%2Caps%2C78&sr=8-5
We got one similar for our daughter it was nice but by she out grew it rather quickly. I think by the time she was 15 months old. The way our house is set up we couldn’t block off the kitchen easily. We also took our and used it outside.

We have this one but still have a long while before our baby will be using it. From just playing with it and setting it up, it seems really sturdy and I love that it is huge inside! It has decent reviews.
What you are looking for is called a play yard or super yard. We had this one and loved it. https://www.amazon.com/North-States-Superyard-Colorplay-8-Panel/dp/B006NTY1HU/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=north+states+superyard&qid=1602203087&sprefix=north+states+&sr=8-3
A baby gate. You can even buy two and hook them together if needed. This is what we used. You can move it when watching a movie if desired and put easily put back: https://www.amazon.com/North-States-Superyard-Colorplay-8-Panel/dp/B006NTY1HU/ref=pd_cp_75_3/135-4847551-3754254?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B006NTY1HU&pd_rd_r=26d33f3d-e5b3-4ac9-9d8f-5730e2beb2ee&pd_rd_w=M1Myt&pd_rd_wg=Mj46I&pf_rd_...
It does not have to be totally enclosed. Most toddlers will leave it alone if the ends are just secured to a weight or something (or nothing, depending on the child).
Practice getting her to sleep on whatever you're going to bed her down in while camping. The clothing and the playpen or whatever.
Turn off the lights in the house and play with flashlights. Maybe even a campout in the backyard if you're able.
Bring benedryl just in case and a good first aid kit.
Also bring the comforts of home like blankie, stuffy, whatever.
Bug spray or lotion only works if you reapply it as recommended. There are 'family safe-non-deet' options, but they don't work as well and need reapplication frequently.
Sunscreen.
Glow sticks. Toss one in her bed in case she wakes up scared at night. Tie one around her wrist or pin it to the back of her jacket. It'll help you spot her if she wanders. Plus, they love them. They're nice in the ice chest too.
Stock up on baby wipes and a spray bottle to fill with water if you're not near a water source. You can do alot of clean up with those.
Embrace the filth. She's bound to eat some dirt, gnaw on a stick, etc.
Those cheap, fit together, padded mats you can get at Harbor Freight come in handy and can provide a crawling, playing space. The collapsible play yard (not play pen) things are the bomb too. https://www.amazon.com/North-States-Superyard-Colorplay-Playard/dp/B006NTY1HU/ref=sr_1_4_a_it
I have two of the same cages for my birdies! I'm planning on just putting this play yard thing around the cages, and using binder clips to secure the doors as those take a good bit of squeezing to open. I already have to use them on the little side doors in my budgies cage because she has learned how to push them open, lol. Black or grey zip ties that blend in to prevent chewing or leather toy straps would probably also work.
So, for poop in the bark yard issue I've got one of these that sits outside permanently in a circle so the dog can't poop in that area and the babies have a grassy area to play in. Once we get their outdoor play house I'm going to hook two of those gate things together and it will live around the playhouse to keep dog/poop out and babies in.
I've got no solution on the behavior issue though. Our dog is an asshole and almost 11 years old, so she isn't changing any time soon. She growls and nips at them if they get close, so now that Ben's crawling we've had to make sure he doesn't get too close to her.
same! We put the fence around the tv and computer desk/computer and it worked wonderfully. We used this one from Amazon.
It is doable. My kids are 19 months apart, but I think you're in a sweeter spot--either farther apart or closer together would have been easier, but I digress.
You can do this.

You can do it. It will be hard. Very hard, but then suddenly, it won't be. And you won't even remember what life was even like with a family of three, because your children will love and need each other. It will be like you've been waiting for this child, and life is unimaginable without them--it happens so fast, and it is so worth it.
Good luck!
I'm going to post a thing I wrote a while ago in detail about going from 1 to 2 when I was 4 months PP with #2:

I would add now that I am a year in with two:
Ok. That's all I can think of right now.
Bought off of Amazon for my kids and now for chicks!

He'll even be distracted by all the amazing beautiful colors.

We did something similar to this. Very easy to assemble and can take pieces off/add pieces as needed. And if you need it bigger, buy another one! It's inconvenient as far as having to sort of hop over every time, but definitely keeps baby out.
I have a few, and likes and don’t likes about all of them.
We have the Summer Pop N Play and love it for outside and traveling. I couldn’t live without this. We put a foam mat underneath it.
I have this one but it comes in other colors. I really like it, but it can be pushed on but I don’t think it can be pushed over. I wished it had a gate.
We also have this metal one. I love how strong it is and durable and I love the gate part of it. My little one hits her face on it when she falls, and that seems more painful since it’s all metal.
This toddler fence was helpful when our kids were really young

Summer infant (the cover is removeable) or North Statesp
Setup a playard like this (if you have hard floors setup a playmat as well within the gated area. This type of setup gives them lots of room to play): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006NTY1HU/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_eoiXCb43A4D11
Or use a playpen like this (I think this option is better for small spaces and/or you want to be able to move it from room to room easiest): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0725JZ9KQ/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_vpiXCb5JR7RH8
always park right next to the shopping cart return.
Even though it takes longer, get as much work done while the kid is awake. Baby wearing with a carrier helps tremendously to free your hands so you can get work done.
Babyproof to the T so you can save your sanity and the kid doesn't have to be yelled at every 2 seconds for getting into something they shouldn't have. Utilize a fence around the areas that are tough to babyproof, such as around the entertainment center/bookcase/computers. Door Monkeys take 1 second to put on and prevent entry into bathrooms/non-babyproofed rooms
Use Kimono style clothing for newborns. Put the clothing down, put baby on top of clothing, button up and you're ready to go! No longer do you need 3 hands to put a shirt on a child without head control.
Utilize baby wipes to clean neck folds of newborns. When your kid starts eating solids, take off their shirt so you don't need to do laundry with every feeding.
Finally get as much work done as possible around the house before the baby comes because there is no time afterwards. Plan on the baby coming at 36 weeks so you will not be caught off guard like I was (I was sure I'd deliver 40 weeks at the earliest).
