1) I recently got my first license, at the ripe old age of 25. I found YouTube videos to be tremendously useful in picking up and/or improving certain basic drivings skills; like these two: video 1 and video 2.
His channel is a gold mine for other basic driving skills. I had a lot of the exact same issues initially. These two guys: Smart Drive Test and Helpful DYI also have troves of useful videos. Just look up some of the specific things you have trouble on on YouTube (e.g., lane change etc.) you are bound to find a video.
If you do not already, I highly recommend that you get a "new driver" stickes (e.g., 1 and 2) for you vehicle. This will substantially decrease the amount of honks you get. When I was just learning, the appropriate sticker tremendously decreased the amount of honks I would get, and drivers would often keep their distance.
2) >> I’m working hard to afford a nicer car some day, but it’s hard starting from the bottom.
Work towards financial stability and potentially building wealth, just don't pay fake YouTube gurus 1000s in courses to do so. Dave Ramsey is a good first step. From listening to his content over the years (he has an audience of 10s millions of Americans) buying a newer car is one of the worst financial decisions people make. People are often flat broke spending the equivalent of 50%+ of their income on depreciating assets like cars; doctors are often some of the worst culprit of this. They are saddled in 100Ks medical debt and still go into more debt (e.g., car, house etc.) to keep up with the Jones.
Once you save up enough get you a work $5000-$10,000 car and drive it to the ground.
I make a 6 figure salary, and I will never spend more than $10K-$20K on a car, ever. Unless I somehow become a multi millionaire.
