This 16-port switch is only $80. I know you say you don't need 16 ports, but it'd "future proof" you for a bit. A 10-port switch is going to be exactly your router+9. You have zero room for expandability, you know?
I got this one. It is a managed switch that supports VLAN ports, and 802.1Q VLAN trunking, and port bonding, which I use to get 2Gbps throughout to my Synology NAS.
TP-Link 16 Port Gigabit Switch | Easy Smart Managed | Plug & Play | Limited Lifetime Protection | Desktop/Wall-Mount | Sturdy Metal w/ Shielded Ports | Support QoS, Vlan, IGMP and LAG (TL-SG116E) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07GRG63P6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_RBT4FPMSE3EXMVD6JYVX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Thanks for the suggestions! I'm open to investing a bit more to upgrade my hardware, but I suppose the bigger concern would be the space required for it.
The repurposed Linksys routers worked great for that, as they served as both a switch and AP in the limited space I had for them in those parts of the room.
But yeah, I figure they're sort of an expedient solution anyway, so it's useful advice, and does give me something I can work on as a longer-term project. I'll need to look it over a bit more, but in the meantime, a question I've got is:
Will the TL-SG116E work fine at CS1? It looks like a smaller, cheaper version of the TL-SG1218 without PoE, which I might not really need since I've got power outlets where the Ethernet cables terminate.
It’s an easy smart TP Link switch.
I have some IoT that I’d like to segregate but thats gonna be on another AP. I was going to put that on eth3 but that seems like a waste of a port. I was gonna move the switch to eth3, tag a switch port (e.g., port 12) on VLAN7. That makes sense to me but not sure if that’s the right way to do this.
I’d be able to setup a few more VLANS on the switch ports if I tag them as long as it’s attached to eth3.

I have a TP Link TL-SG116E. YOu can get it around $50 on Amazon. Works fine with ERX and AP AC Pro with the 3 VLAN I have.
