If your patio is close to the house, you may want to consider having the access point inside the house, proximate to the patio. Unless you have brick walls, the signal should provide adequate coverage outside. That way, you're not messing with holes in the wall, etc.
The simplest method would be to pick up a pair of devices, such as the TP-Link Deco X68 . . .

One of them can act as your primary router, and the other can be placed on the other side of the house, near your patio.
These units have their own dedicated WiFi channel to link the two units together. But you'd get much better performance if the two were linked together with an ethernet cable.
As a network engineer, I would recommend just installing mesh 3 band Wi-Fi in your house. Ain’t cheap, but cheaper than that estimate. If that too much, look up power over Ethernet and install an extended network for better range.

Thanks for your response, unfortunately my house is not wired for Ethernet, that's something I considered having done however.
I was considering this one. May be way overkill for what I need but sounds like a good device to me

Welcome. I think you'll be happy with any of them, but like I said, take a loook at the X68 - I have only seen it in a two-pack but you could for example get a 2-pack of the X68 and a single X20 nide (they're sold on Amazon individually) if you decided you needed extra coverage in a dead spot. I think the X68 is the best tri-band from a value standpoint, and would make the most of your fast speeds. The X90 is also very strong but much more expensive.
I just checked and the X68 is $249.99 + there's a $30 coupon at checkout on the US Amazon site! Great deal!
