Anyone have any experience with powerlink adapters, or have any recommendations?
Just moved into a new place and got setup with Bell "Gigabit Fibe 1.5", which has been great over wi-fi when near the included Bell Hub 3000 or when plugging in directly, but the hub is installed in the complete opposite corner from my home office so the connection isn't great. I've heard powerline can be hit or miss, depending on the kind of wiring in the house but I figure it's worth a shot before I
This TP-Link AV1000 for $99 seems like a good fit, since it'll let me get an ethernet connection in my office and also improve the wi-fi connection on this side of the house. Any other suggestions/advice?
I just installed this at my parents house with Starlink. Works great using existing power lines in your home. Plug in into wall next to current router and then another where you want the Wi-Fi signal stronger. No extra wires. Works great.
Concerning wifi dongles vs onboard. I use a power line adapter which is a high speed solution to wifi issues. My desktop is in the corner of a room in my cramped Philadelphia home. There were no other options for placement and wifi was not cutting it for streaming, gaming, etc. You can Google a more thorough description of how it functions but you need an outlet near your router and an outlet near your pc.
I think SSD is the way to go regardless. I play in the bedroom on a One X with a Western Digital external SSD (I even have a fan blowing on the rear of the console for cooling/ventilation).
When my wife comes to the bedroom to sleep and we've finished watching movies together I'll unplug the SSD and move to the living room and play on my Day One Xbox One. The WiFi is broken on the console so I use one of these and plug my SSD in to and rock and roll.
The textures are shit BUT guns load before or right as I hit the ground and frame rate is steady for the most part.
For wi-fi network mesh, I would say to look into ubiquiti by default for the long term and homelability, but could be expensive
Otherwise a easy/cheaper option but less elegant IMHO is powerline network like this one, I've used them a few time for similar situations. It doesn't work as well as dedicated rj45 but it's good enough for the smart tv
So I need to suck it up about the aesthetic of the wires because let’s be real... internet is more important. If I got the suggested modem and router and then used this extended with an Ethernet wire, would that allow me to get WiFi in the basement?

Sorry for all of the dumb questions... this is all Greek to me.
Here's the same model kit with the wireless extender replacing the other Powerline adapter
You should be able to find just the Wireless extender. In any case it doesn't matter because these are AV2 standard extenders and should interopt with any other AV2 Powerline adapter. Or you can get the kit and have 2 Ethernet adapters and 1 WiFi adapter - they can all work at the same time.
It's different than a repeater because it's integrated into the Powerline adapter and because most of these adapters have better setup features than the general repeaters. Plus the network traffic doesn't have to co-exist on the wireless network - with Powerline all the inter device network traffic goes over Powerline, only the wireless device traffic needs to go over WiFi.

I assume you have a power outlet on the outside of the building that is powered by one of the building's circuits. If so, just use a PowerLine adaptor that also serves as a WiFi access point like this: https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-AV1000Mbps-Powerline-WiFi-Extender/dp/B0725LPTZR/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=powerline%2Bwifi&qid=1635139099&sr=8-4&th=1
Plug and play.
Powerline with wifi extender is what I use for my detached garage. Works great.

Can you expand on this?
So you bought:
You can just plugged your TPLink EAP 225 into that?
I'm using TP-Link AV1000 Powerline Wifi Extender now, drops from 200+mbps to about 1 or 2.. but it constantly loses signal
I'll add I bought these https://www.amazon.ca/TP-Link-AV1000-Powerline-WiFi-Extender/dp/B0725LPTZR/ for 5 people at work when we cleared the office out due to COVID and have had no issues.
Maybe a set of powerline adapter like these?
I use this and it works perfectly https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-AV1000Mbps-Powerline-WiFi-Extender/dp/B0725LPTZR/
