I think this is because the PS4 controller uses a 4 pole jack. Which means the mic, as well as audio left, audio right, and ground are all present on the same connector.
Your PC audio ports will be separate stereo and mic. So you'll need a 4 pole splitter cable that puts your mic on a separate jack to the stereo sound one.
That will do what you need. Make sure you get that specific one, as if you choose another one, it might end up having the wrong jack connectors.
Unless your PC has a front panel headset jack instead of separate connections for headphones and microphone, you need a PC splitter cable that takes the 4-pole connection from your headphones and splits it into 2 3-pole connections, 1 for headphones, and 1 for the microphone.
Sure thing! Are you using a desktop pc? Look on the front you should have ports that have a picture of headphones and another that shows a mic. If you do you need something like this to split the connection

You can get something like this (plus requisite adapters and extensions) which will allow you to plug this mic in too and still use it
UGREEN Headphone Splitter for Computer 3.5mm Female to 2 Dual 3.5mm Male Headphone Mic Audio Y Splitter Cable Microphone Stereo Jack Earphones Port Cord Gaming Headset to PC Laptop Adapter Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_TPPSQTSRN62P5VCPHWDM
Ok it looks like it's a 4 pole connector that handles both the headphones and the microphone.
It'll need to be plugged into the front combo jack on the computer to pick up both.
Then you should have the Realtek Audio Console installed (windows should've done this automatically for you) which you can open click on the device advanced settings and see if both front panel connectors are lit up.
If they are then it should be as simple as setting the front mic as the default device in the settings app or in discord itself.
If you want to connect it to the back you'll need a splitter like this.
Okay- you’ve heard music through the jack so you know it works, you just need something like this for your (headphones+mic combo with only one plug):
UGREEN Headphone Splitter for Computer Audio Mic Y Splitter Female to 2 Dual 3.5mm Male Cable Adapter Microphone Stereo Jack Earphones Port Cord Compatible with PS4 Xbox Gaming Headset PC Laptop Black https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_a_42C8A3VVGK58S13DE9FX
A 3.5 mm TRRS probably has both stereo speakers and a microphone. So that will only work on laptops that have a combo jack that supports that, otherwise you will need a converter to split out the microphone into its own connector. Something like this maybe.
But what microphone is it exactly? That would be helpful.
There are multiple types of 3.5mm audio jacks.
A lot of headsets use a TRRS (Tip, Ring, Ring, Sleeve) connector which can do both Headphones and a Microphone all in one connector.
Most standalone headphones and microphones use a TRS connector which can only do 1 thing (in stereo) at a time.
Desktop computers overwhelmingly have TRS ports, so if you're plugging a TRRS headset into a computer, you generally need a splitter like below to have both sound output and input working at the same time.
Your PC has separate ports for mic and speakers, but your headphones have them combined into one cable. So you can reconfigure the port to work as an input or output, but you can't reconfigure it to suddenly support TRRS (the connection that your headphones use).
You'll need to buy a TRRS splitter, like this. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B073ZDDTH2/
This will split the TRRS connection into two TRS connections, one for the mic and one for the headphone audio. You'd plug the red port into the mic port or line in, and the green into the line out or headphone port.
Oh! I see what you mean now, thank you for the clarification and additional information. Very interesting to know how it work So something like this should do, as well as an adapter for the microphone to go into the 6.35mm TRS?
You're right that I don't need an audio interface right now, I was just hoping to be able to use it in the meantime while I was getting an XLR mic :)
The jack itself? Nope
You can get one of those y splitter cables that split the output from your headset to individual mic and audio jacks like this then plug the pink colored jack to the mic input on your motherboard.
Lmao. Are you plugging the headset through one port? Ergo, both the headset and microphone come out into one 3.5mm port like on a phone?
You said you tested in your phone. If that's the case, you'll need to buy a a plotter like this one. audio connections aren't the same on phones and computers. Just because it works that way on your phone doesn't mean it will on your PC.
oh yeah that is the problem with schiit. probably makes more sense if you also wanted something else at the same time.
I think this is also what you want https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=trs+splitter+ugreen&qid=1619122695&s=musical-instruments&sr=1-7-catcorr
I have a Shure Srh 440 headset and I bought a cable for it on amazon that has a mic included. Obviously, the jack on the cable is TRRS but my computer only has a TRS input so I plan to buy an adapter like this....
My question is: since the male connector of the microphone seems to be stereo and the microphone on my cable is mono, will the microphone be heard on both sides or just one side, since I had a similar experience before when I connected a microphone to my computer and it was only heard on one side. If someone has bought this adapter and can solve this doubt I would appreciate it very much.
Headsets that use a single 3.5mm jack are 4-pole types. Case front panel audio jacks and back panel aren't 4-pole compatible so it'll only output audio but no microphone.
You'll need a 3.5mm headset splitter that has two male plugs coming out of it like this:
https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone/dp/B073ZDDTH2
> However, my pc doesn't recognize the built in mic on the iems
You might just need a reverse-splitter like this one: https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone/dp/B073ZDDTH2, it takes the one plug which has both headphone/microphone on it and splits it into two plugs, one for headphone one for microphone.
I'm trying to find something on amazon that will come tomorrow. do you think this will work? https://www.amazon.ca/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Smartphone-Separated/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=mic+cable+hd+599&qid=1607101476&sr=8-8
You can get audio splitters, they have 2 plugs and 1 output, like UGREEN Mic Headphone Splitter Headset Audio Microphone Adapter CTIA Standard 3.5mm Female to 2 Dual 3.5mm Male Aux Mic Splitter Jack Cable for Speaker, Headphones, PC, Laptop, Aluminum Connector, 20cm https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_-a6XFbMMV9EEA
So that happens only with the cable or with also Bluetooth? If it's only the cable, it's probably a TRRS cable that has also contacts for microphone. Normal desktop computers usually have separate speaker and microphone jacks that are TRS. So you need a splitter.
Something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone/dp/B073ZDDTH2
Get a 3.5mm splitter or whatever its called. Two male plugs on the one side, female on the other. Plug the one male plug into your laptop, the other into your controller. Then, connect your headphones to the female plug.
I do this when I play cross platform games with my friends. We talk on Discord while playing. So this way I have the game sounds and the voice chat from discord coming trough my headphones.
Seems like automod deleted my reply so I send it again edited.
https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone/dp/B073ZDDTH2
Something like this should do the trick if you dont want to buy another microphone. There are cheaper options I believe, but the idea remains. It takes the 3.5mm plug and separates the headphones and microphone channels into their own plugs.
No OP's headset has a single 4 pole jack that delivers both headphone and mic connections so he needs on that has a single 4 pole female port and dual 3 pole male plugs. Like this one https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone/dp/B073ZDDTH2
You need an 3.5mm jack splitter. Basically an adapter that plugs into 2 separate ports, one port that is dedicated to mic input and another port that is dedicated to audio output. After the adapter is plugged into the ports, you would plug in your headset plug into the single port provided by the adapter. With these, it usually doesn't matter what plug goes in what port as long as you have the right ports. Here's an example of a splitter you could buy on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone/dp/B073ZDDTH2
You need a splitter that will connect your headset into a audio and mic output. Something like this https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ref=sr_1_9?crid=1NRXMFTV00RUU&dchild=1&keywords=single+to+double+headphone+jack&qid=1603995034&sprefix=single+to+double+hea%2Caps%2C201&sr=8-9
Yes I’m having the same issue. I love my headset but it was causing constant blue screens and panic/kernel errors. I actually bypassed the usb card and purchased a headphone and microphone splitter from amazon. This is the one I bought
UGREEN Headphone Splitter for Computer 3.5mm Female to 2 Dual 3.5mm Male Headphone Mic Audio Y Splitter Cable Smartphone Headset to PC Adapter (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_kCfwDbTE97SPX
I’m just waiting on the fix.
Interesting when I plugged in the audio jack separately and connected it as headphone it worked, and then i plugged in the microphone jack and connected it as microphone and they both now work. It is a bit cumbersome as the cable is a bit short. This was tested on the HyperX cloud ones.
If I wanted to use the other headset that only comes with only 3.5mm jack will I have to buy one off of amazon such as this
Arthur, I got a new one, I got a new splitter https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B073ZDDTH2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I still have the static noise. Could you send a recording from your microphone? Disable all Realtek microphone effects and record it.
You'll need a splitter, to split the headphone to the DAC/amp and plug the mic into the computer directly. Something like this:
https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_dBCkFb97RS35Q
Edit: Sorry I didn't respond to your question about the DAC last week
I looked up the specs on that and it uses a single 1/8” jack to plug in. That’s a headset jack which combines the mic and headphones into a single connector. PCs usually don’t have headset ports, just separate microphone and speaker ports. You probably need one of THESE to combine your computer’s microphone and speaker ports into a combined headset jack.
Just an FYI, we had to plug the mic into the PC rather than the controller and use a "y" adapter to split the connector into two inputs for the headset and mic. Something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_hXmhDbT6V5JZR
Its not a software problem, but I got you fam, you need one of THESE BAD BOIS BRUH. That headseat only has a single 3.5mm jack for both audio out and mic in, but most computers don't support that and only support separate audio out and mic in lines so you need that there adapter.
this should work if your headset has a combined (mic and audio) 3.5mm jack
takes a 3.5mm mic/audio combined jack and splits it into separate mic and headphone 3.5mm male jacks
You can actually just need a audio splitter for 4pin to dual 3 pin like this one linked
UGREEN Headphone Mic Splitter Cable 3.5mm 2 Male to Female (2x3 Pin to 4 Pin) Smartphone Headset to PC Adapter for Computer Laptop Aluminum Case (Black) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_duJAAb3E7TDV0
> using just one of the aux slots
almost certainly not, but you can get an adaptor like this to allow you to use both slots with your one cable setup
It is to convert a headphones with an integrated mic to be able to be used on a computer that has independent speaker and microphone ports.
https://www.amazon.com.au/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-3-5mm-Female/dp/B073ZDDTH2/
Yes. In the back panel, the headphone output and mic input are separate jacks (green and red, respectively)
And yeah, I think a splitter like this should do the trick.
I just found one: https://www.amazon.ca/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Smartphone-Separated/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ Thank you for your support!
If it's a headset then you need to get a splitter like this.
It's so you can use the mic and headphones.
Here's an idea. If you were to use something like an aux splitter like this one, and had something to transmit the audio as bluetooth such as this, maybe it could work? Just a guess, but it seems like it should work. You could plug in your headphones to one end of the aux splitter, and the BT transmitter to the other. Keep in mind though, this will reduce the output power to both devices so if your headphones are hard to drive, it might end up disappointing you.
I have looked a lot into audio as I never really considered it when learning about computers. Honestly, I personally prefer speakers to headphones, but my current speaker setup is garbage, and honestly the more I learned about headphones, I wonder if the gaming headphones I got just aren't that good. The previous headphone type I used were 12 dollar earbuds, so yeah I haven't really experienced anything good quality with audio equipment.
Excuse my ignorance for the DAC and AMP for headphones, I guess that's a little more important for speaker setups as I have learned that people talk about them a lot with speakers.
I want to become a streamer, and I do listen to music a lot, so I have researched speakers, microphones, and headphones a lot. I'm not sure what setup I want to go for, or maybe I will eventually go for all 3 for different scenarios. I am really interested in trying open back headphones to see if that might be perfect for me.
That's why I suggested an overkill audio interface, as it's part of one of the setups I theorized for microphones, and noticed it had a headphone spot.
My only microphone is currently my gaming headset, so if I wanted to go cheap and also experience a bit higher quality, I wondered if getting an audio interface would be a good idea to explore the differences that might make.
Would the DAC be in the USB part? I have Hyper cloud X2 or something along those lines, where it has a TRRS cable that connects into a USB input cord with USB output, and it also has some weird 7.1 surround system button on the USB section.
I will admit that it's better to go with proper headphones and a dedicated microphone, but I am very curious and I love to learn, and learning a method for TRRS headphones to work with an audio interface really has me intrigued. I mean why else would I type up this wall of text if I wasn't excited to tackle this challenge?
It's probably just a thought exercise right now, but I am also making a computer building guide, and I am almost done with the sound section, but this is the last part that is stopping me from moving on from the audio section. Maybe someone else that reads my guide may want to know this?
SO far what I cobbled together is this:
Would the insert 1 port on the BACK of the audio interface I posted earlier work with the TRS of the splitter?
A standard 3.5mm y-splitter is not what you need. There are specific splitters that will separate the TRRS plug into two TRS plugs.
Like this: https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone/dp/B073ZDDTH2/
What I think I'd have to do is buy something like the Quantum 50 earbuds, plug those into this -> https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3EMCC64BQ27EP&keywords=3.5+mm+mic+headphone+splitter&qid=1662846306&sprefix=3.5+mm+mic+headphone+split%2Caps%2C121&sr=8-4
Then take that and plug it into this -> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MR5TPKV/ref=crt_ewc_title_srh_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AKXVBT49GGF3B
Then plug that into the computer.
Am I thinking about this correctly?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073ZDDTH2?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details the earbuds are connected to my razor keyboard and the keyboard jack is connected to the splitter.
I believe the issue here is the headphones have a TRRS connector rather than the standard TRS stereo connector (with the extra Ring contact being the mic). More detail than you probably wanted to know here:
https://audiouniversityonline.com/ts-vs-trs-vs-trrs-audio-connectors/
The quick answer is you can get this adapter or something similar, and it'll break the headphone connector out into two distinct cables: one for the mic signal and one for stereo audio. This will allow you to use both simultaneously:
https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone/dp/B073ZDDTH2/
Ok, while looking into buying sound cards as a solution, I ran into a workaround. Turns out some external sound cards were having similar problems with TRRS headsets being plugged into a headphone dedicated jacks, due to different power requirements...
The problem with static and "muffleness" we're experiencing on TUF X570 and similar boards is happening on TRRS 3.5mm ports that take out headsets in(headphones+mic).
(For more info about TRRS and 3.5mm jack standards, checkout this guy)
So the workaround would be to buy a 3.5mm splitter, that will separate your TRRS headset into a headphones and mic. This way you can plug them in separately into the mic and audio out ports on your motherboard(pinky and green ones). These can be found on amazon for like 5-8e.
TLDR:
Get a "3.5mm Female to 2 dual 3.5 Male Headphone/Mic Audio Y splitter" on amazon for dirt cheap. Plenty options to choose from. e.g.
something like this

might work

This works fine.
That one from Schiit should work fine as well.
i bought a cloud alpha 3 days ago and my friends could hear everything from, i bought myself a splitter cable for 2 bucks and it fixed everything for mehttps://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=Splitter+Cable&qid=1639572088&sr=8-5
Then it's just that your headphones are a single jack and doesn't split into the dedicated jacks that your PC has. You need something like this https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone/dp/B073ZDDTH2
The splitter cables are cheap and easy for find. You are looking for something like this. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_J821VX75BZ0G3JF8X6ZS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Yep, on the back of your PC there should be at least one green port (headphones) and one pink/red port (headphones). Those are the two you need to plug into to get everything working on your headset.
I had the same issue you have right now when I got my most recent headset. The headset itself only has one 3.5mm connector, so I had to get the adapter to break it out, and I also picked up 6FT extension cable since i knew I needed to plug into the back of my PC and the headset cord length would become a problem.
6FT (~1.8 meter) Extension cable
These are the two I picked up and everything has been working brilliantly for the past 6 months or so since I got everything.
This should do. UGREEN Headphone Splitter for Computer 3.5mm Female to 2 Dual 3.5mm Male Headphone Mic Audio Y Splitter Cable Microphone Stereo Jack Earphones Port Cord Gaming Headset to PC Laptop Adapter Black https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B073ZDDTH2
from headset to the mic/speaker audio jacks
https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone/dp/B073ZDDTH2
Or, If you want to go from headset to USB:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L56C28R/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You can just buy a splitter for that. Like this one: https://www.amazon.com/-/de/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ref=sr\_1\_3?dchild=1&keywords=Headphone+Mic+Splitter&qid=1621859185&sr=8-3
I'm guessing your headset has a single plug that handles both output and input?
If so, desktops very rarely support that and expects output and input to be separate plugs, you would need a splitter like: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073ZDDTH2/
This is correct, you need this adapter and it should work fine.
I don't think there is a handshake.
I think that both your splitter and joiner might be using the apple trrs order instead of the android one. It works fine when you use both of them together because they effectively cancel each other out and youre left with the right trrs
I think these two are the opposite order from each other so one of them should work.
https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone/dp/B073ZDDTH2
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C9D2WCK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_BPX93B74ZZ205DDVK6HK
The only other thing I can think of is that your xlr in is expecting a higher level input so it doesn't have enough gain for the headset mic but that seems unlikely.
No prob! Hope you get it working.
If your PC has separate headphone out and mic sockets, it's an adapter like this that should do the trick.
Which iPhone earpods do you have exactly?
Example:
https://www.amazon.com/-/de/dp/B073ZDDTH2/
User review: "My sound card in my PC wouldn't separate the mic from the speakers on an xbox one headset. So I picked this up and it does the trick nicely. Able to use any type of headset with this setup, including iPhone headphones."
// Tom
Then I guess you have to replace your splitter.
I would try to blow in the 3.5 female jack of the splitter then suck air (or vaccum) from it to unlock potential dust or element that could short-cut/make contact inside the plug.
Now, generic cheap splitters are working fine. They only have to be 4-poles (trrs) female jack to 2 3poles males. I have many of this one.
The rings have to be green for the audio/headphones and red or pink for the mic.
If you want to diag without breaking the splitter, you'll have to get a multimeter, a trrs (4poles) male jack to male jack and perform a conductivity test. See this diagram.
If you want to try to fix DIY, then you'll to be able to open the female jack or replace it and do some ironing if there was a shortcut anywhere. The shortcut might be in the female plug or in the cable (grounding issues).
I bought this off Amazon and it worked for my headset: https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=audio+splitter&qid=1609667419&sr=8-6
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_vyq1FbWFNXM6C
This should work right.
I just found out that in English it is called 'Spltter Cable'. In my country we call it Y-cable. You can find it here
My guess is your headset has a TRRS plug and you'll need a splitter like this
https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone/dp/B073ZDDTH2/
to use both the headphone and mic jacks on your PC.
You're talking about 1 set of earbuds that have an inline mic right? Like these?
AFAIK most 3.5mm jacks are for audio output OR audio input and are labelled accordingly. Phones and some laptops are more likely to support earbuds w inline mics via a single 3.5mm jack but you can get a splitter like this one (no idea if that one's good but this is the kind of thing you'd want I think) to turn your single input/output jack into an output jack and an input jack.
If you want one cable from headphones, just use a TRRS (female) to 2 TRS splitter (Male)
Such as
Why waste money on a new headset? Y splitters are a few bucks on amazon, have a link.
1080p144 or 1440p60, got you a 1440p144 monitor but if you cant get 144fps at 1440p you can always turn down some settings or switch to 1080p, youll be set for a monitor for a couple gpu generations at least and you can always upgrade the gpu for 1440p144 at a later time.
Youre also all set to overclock if/when you choose to (which i recommend doing rigth away since it will help you get more fps for your 144hz monitor).
The keyboard has a usb passthrough and i noticed your headset comes with a usb adapter/extender cable (at least the version amazon sells) so when you said headphone jack if you meant for your headphones and have that cable then you can get rid of the $10 adapter at the bottom of the list. If you are planning on plugging your headphones in via a single mic+speaker cable, you will need to buy another cheap adapter (such as this) since the usb to audio adapters i could find all separate the mic and headphones into 2 ports.
I just found a mouse that satisfied what you mentioned but there are soooo many options for rgb, adjustable dpi, and thumb rest youd be better off just looking through amazon if you dont like the one I found.
You didnt mention speakers so im assuming youre solely using your headset but the monitor i picked out also comes with built in speakers which while not the best are an adequate alternative if you plan to mostly use your headset. Alternatively you can get a cheap 2.1 channel speaker set for 20-35$ depending on wattage and aesthetic style.

Also in a couple months prices will have changed and amd is coming out with a new line of processors and gpus soon ™ so i recommend you nail down your keyboard and mouse choice and then ask for another build (less the cost of the keyboard and mouse) in a couple months or so for a more accurate price, also feel free to nail down the monitor as well to simplify the build process since they arent going to change much in the next two months either. Eliminating the keyboard and mouse (and to a lesser extent the monitor) will likely get you a lot more replies more quickly since keyboards and mouses are a lot more subjective than the performance metrics associated with tower components.
Solution worked. You can indeed use direct monitoring with earbuds (or in-ear monitors -- basically, any device that would use TTRS.
If anyone is curious, here is what I did.
I bought these headphone splitters:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073ZDDTH2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Lesson here is, avoid plugging TTRS devices into the 1/4" to 1/8" adapter without splitting the TTRS signal into two separate, audio and microphone connections first. Then you can connect the headphone jack back to the adapter for a correct transmission.
As WalnutTheDog has mentioned, it is because TTRS connection is unstable via TRS mapping so a headphone splitter is required.
If your laptop has both a headphone and a mic in jack then get a splitter for your headset. If not then get the splitter and a usb adapter such as this. (These two items are just examples and the first that showed up in search. There may be better and/or cheaper options.)
If the mic still works and it’s just the USB attachment that doesn’t work, you can just use a splitter. https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone/dp/B073ZDDTH2
Sorry if i get back to you but i am currently using one of these to connect my sennheiser hd6xx to my soundblasterx G6: https://www.amazon.it/UGREEN-Microfono-Adattatore-Alluminio-Auricolari/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ref=sr_1_8?__mk_it_IT=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&dchild=1&keywords=cavo+trs+maschio+femmina&qid=1597765831&sr=8-8
is it ok even if the microphone part is connected (I don't use any microphone) or is it better to buy a single extension only for audio without microphone?
Try this my man, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_MAemFb44YRBQ3
Plug those make ends into each the Mac and the PC plug the 3.5mm from the speakers into the female end.
You can get something like this - https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone/dp/B073ZDDTH2
I'm guessing based on your post that your headphones have a TRRS connector. What you need is a TRRS to TRS/TRS adapter.
What you want is a headphone microphone y splitter, something like this:

Just search aux cable with mic on Amazon and plug it into something like this: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_R1PuFbSV8DDT7 and then plug that into your mobo
The audio out on your computer probably doesn't take microphone input. Get a splitter like this one off amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_w19BEbZAM6GHJ
Is this a headset with the single combined plug? You'll need to use a splitter like this https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone/dp/B073ZDDTH2 to use the mic with a standard PC using separate mic and headphone jacks.
Combo jack female to microphone and headphones male. https://www.amazon.ca/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Smartphone-Separated/dp/B073ZDDTH2
You can buy those splitters relatively cheap online
You need an adapter like THIS and all your problems will be solved.
