I've been using this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0011G1F8S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_ezDeGbDKXZPSR?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 for over a year and it works super well for me and hasn't affected my ~3 year old xcel 3/2 at all. Definitely cuts down the drying time quite a bit. It doesn't have a heating element so I can't comment on that. It's just a simple PC case fan creating the airflow.
My full suit has a liner so I've tried using that Tide disinfecting spray. Seems to work ok.
Also was told to get my suit dry ASAP after wearing or shit can start growing because leather is organic. So I found a wetsuit dryer. It works great to dry the suit. Then spray the tide stuff , and that's been my routine for the last 2 years. No noticeable odors from my suit
I use this to dry things quickly.
>After an extensive cleaning I think he needs to pay more attention to drying the inside well.
The UK Hangair seems gimmicky, they really do get the insides of a wetsuit dry overnight.
So if the patient is a daily surfer this may be a good solution, as otherwise it took a few days for the inside of my wetsuit to dry, even with a nice large hanger that kept the inside from touching.
I know some folks DIY, but the HangAir wetsuit dryer is probably some of the best $50 I've spent on surf accessories. Use it constantly.
Sort of tangential to your post, I find using this minimizes the smell:
Underwater Kinetics HangAir Drying Systems for Wetsuits and Drysuits https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0011G1F8S/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_bwbLwb33YNJ4R
Also.. pick up your tires!
If you want to keep your leather supple and long lasting, hit it with some conditioner especially after you get it wet. There are plenty of places to buy leather conditioner, most grocery stores sell it for cleaning couches.
As for the jacket, Try one of these.
This may be the fan hanger you were looking for:
Underwater Kinetics HangAir Hanger w/Built in Fan, Black, One Size (UK-524061) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0011G1F8S/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_3VN5PWNWQD8KN7QDGQV2
Buy that and a second suit. Happy surfing.
A good leather cleaner & conditioner for the outside.
My suit gets hung up on this fan hanger when I get home.
And then tide fabric disinfecter for inside odors.
Oh wow. Purchased this for occasional airing out of dry suit. Would a hanger like this generate ozone?
Surfing gift are tough, because there is a lot of personal preference involved in selecting surf gear, and most surfers already have everything they need. Are you somewhere that the water is cold? A powered wetsuit drying hanger and/o a boot dryer that he could use to dry booties would be something he may not have.
