Congratulations! You're welcome and there's a ton of information out there but if you like books I would pick up any one of the all encompassing diy books. https://www.amazon.com/dp/158011783X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_ZfHaGb9H4KAWW
Remember, it's good to have around because it's not like you can use the internet when the power's out. All the best
I'm with you. I love text books and manuals I but a lot of them, you cannot get everything from the internet assume things you do need to pay for. Anyway I've got a few of the creative home owner books off Amazon
Sounds like maybe they like DIY? Maybe a book like This? A bunch of multi color duct tape? Gorilla tape?
You can find general handyman books on Amazon which will provide you with what you’re looking for.
“This Old House” and Craftsman used to make these back in the day and can still be found but the one in the link above is he newer version and helps the new folks a lot.
Also, check the book stands at Lowe’s and Home Depot as you might find this there. See which has the price as well.
I've been looking for how a house works type of resource for such a long time!
This book is incredible. Great pictures, and walkthroughs. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Guide-Repair-Improvement-Updated/dp/158011783X&ved=2ahUKEwi-4JT81I_2AhVhk2oFHezmCiIQFnoECAUQAQ&usg=AOvVaw1gvs87w0ROee6q_q1-tECf
Also any book from bigger pockets (if you are on the investing side) is great.
I strongly recommend https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Guide-Repair-Improvement-Updated/dp/158011783X
It covers the basics of everything and it's really well illustrated with lots of pictures and diagrams. Its helped me a bunch so far.
Get a book like this (not necessarily this one): https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Guide-Repair-Improvement-Updated/dp/158011783X/
Also, I learned a thing or two from watching This Old House.
Really? Umm yes, it's for windows and doors. It's what goes around edges, helps seal out air transfer from outside to in and vice versa.
It sounds like you might need some books or stuff on home owning and general repair and maintenance. I would highly suggest that you find yourself a well referred handyman, plumber and electrician now and have their numbers available. https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Guide-Repair-Improvement-Updated/dp/158011783X/ref=sr_1_1_sspa

There is a lot involved in owning and maintaining a home. Seasonal tasks that need to be completed inside, outside, in the yard. Doing this stuff keeps your home weathertight, safe, pest free, and long lasting.
Beginner (female) DIYer here, my recommendation would be to get a couple of good reno books as a base. I find it super helpful to look in the book to get a basic overview of what is needed for a project including tools and materials, and then I can turn to YouTube for demonstrations of each individual step or technique.
The two books I bought:
As others have said, it's best to take things one project at a time, and one tool at a time. See Jane Drill is one of my favourite YouTube channels for DIY instructions. There are videos on how to use different tools safely, and videos on certain techniques or projects that include good explanations of different methods to do the same thing. Hope this helps!
Get a good DIY Guide.
