When I was first starting to learn how to mine I was starting from ground zero and had no idea what to do. I had to learn the hard way. So I wanted to share my setup here for anyone who would like to try and build a home garage mining setup.
Miners: I bought all my miners off of eBay and Amazon. Had a pretty good experience with both. Just be careful of spammers and check reviews and their reputation. This is a very helpful website for determining which miners you want to get and how much you can expect to make each day.

Electrical: $15-20k
I had to call an electrician out to install 20 240 volt outlets as each miner uses two plugs. They also installed a 400 Amp Residential Service and a dedicated power panel with each breaker matching up to one outlet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZi\_yx\_koXc was a really good video that helped me on what to say to the electrician.
Heat:
The heat thrown off by these miners is no joke. My garage went from 70-120 degrees in about an hour just from 3 of these running when I was dumb and tried to use a couple portable window AC units. I learned it’s way more important to get the hot air out rather than making the futile attempt to cool the space. With that being said I still got a mini-split Air Conditioner installed in the garage in order to constantly push in 60 degree air.
Mini split: $7k: Carrier z Performance High Wall: 38MAQB18R--3 with 40MAQB18B--3: 17500 Btu 20 SEER 12.5 EER Heat Pump.
Even with the mini-split though it was still getting too hot. So I had the idea of using a grow tent to push and contain all the hot air and then using fans to shoot it out of the garage. This finally worked since the mini-split was pushing a ton of cold air into the garage and the grow tent contained and pushed out all the hot air.
Grow tent: 569.95: https://www.amazon.com/ULTRA-YIELD-Extension-Grow-Tent/dp/B0883DH17T
Fans: $900: I had to set up 3 10 inch AC Infinity Fans hanging inside the tent to suck all the air out. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XBV5JY1/
Ducting: $150: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0845MBBYV
Noise:
ASIC miners are extremely loud. I live in a neighborhood with noise ordinances and would definitely have the cops show up if I didn’t take steps to dampen the noise.
Acoustic tiles: $200

I lined my garage door and the wall above it with these acoustic tiles but it was still too loud.
Custom Fan Silencers: $480

I bought and installed these onto both sides of the miner. Needed 40. 4 for each miner.
Still too loud.
Duct Silencers: $600

These things were great. Finally unable to hear the mining operation beyond about 10 feet from my garage.
Networking:
You don’t need to run networking cable to your space. Just spend $40 and get these power over ethernet adapters.

24 Port Switch
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0779R9LJ3
I have a networking background but even if you don’t it is super simple. Plug the networking cables in to the switch, plug the switch into the PoE adapter, Plug your router into the poe adapter and it is a super easy setup.
Mining:
I just used NiceHash. Nicehash.com. They make it super simple to start mining within minutes and pay out every 4 hours I believe in BTC.
I’m sure I forgot some stuff but hopefully this can help someone out there searching for how to mine at home. Good luck.
