I used this exact boot. You have to order the correct size for your foot size.
It really seems to break up the tension, improve circulation, and generally make things feel better. This is especially true when your more on the edges of a flareup, the pain is relatively minor. If you're actually in excruciating pain, maybe not.
Though even there--and I've mentioned this before on the sub--I'd suggest getting something like a lower-leg splint/cam walker and using it when you need to move around the house, plus to take the occasional stroll throughout the day if you can do so without undue pain.
Staying immobile all day long is pretty much the worst thing, even when you're in the middle of a flare-up, if you can figure out any alternative. (However, don't gimp around the house trying to walk only on the outside of your foot. That leads to a cascade of problems you don't want.)
