yeah got you, i ordered one of those pocket microscopes everyone says to buy and i fucking hate it lol idk how people can manage an unmounted 60x. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CSJ50HY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_CMRWJJQ6JKVK7054T1TB thats just one i found im sure you can get a cheaper one if you need
He got me the lenses a loooooong time ago so I don’t quite remember where he got them, but they are just small little lenses that attach to your phone camera with a little clip! Mine looks almost exactly like this kit on Amazon :)
Might be surprised to find out this is actually just my Google Pixel 3XL with a cheap macro lens I bought off of Amazon! Honestly, the Pixel's all have decent cameras, and as long as you light everything well, it'll make your shots 1000x better lol (I'm holding a cheap ring light to the side).
What did you use for a macro lens? I have a couple of cheap clip-ons from Amazon (something like this), but they both suffer from some pretty extreme vignetting. I have to crop most of the picture out to get rid of it.
Nice picture, BTW. Such a bright monochrome (well, aside from the touch of purple), I really like it. I'm also a pretty big fan of macro photography...capturing the details that most people don't even notice.
Don't bother getting a new camera - try this out https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CSJ50HY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I bought this a couple months ago and it takes some good macro pictures/video for only being $15.
Sucks on the containers - I know the feel when they are running around and you have nothing to catch them with.
Unfortunately, it's not as simple as "stack 2 lenses and reap the benefits". Even if there were some FOV improvement, you'd suffer from more aberrations (e.g., chromatic aberration/fringing) and you'd likely have issues focusing. In order of image quality, you'd be better off:
Yes it's a queen from what I can tell.
It's a bit hard to see from the picture, but it could definitely be a Tetramorium sp. or possibly Pheidole sp.
If you are getting into the hobby, I strongly recommend picking up a macro lens kit for your phone. They can be found for under $20 on Amazon and really help you take amazing pictures.
Here's a picture I took with it using my Galaxy S6 Edge. These ants are quite small.
sooo one idea might be to modify the lens too or even add to it. Might need external infrared lighting to assist but that would be a minor accomodation

Or consider trying to add a lens to the Wyze cam and reduce the number of cameras. Something like these may be easy to modify and install on a Wyze cam.

/u/zedexx14 I Finaly edited/uploaded the macro shot i took with my phone (2nd & 3rd pics)
Something basic like this one macro lens clip
I used to tape it with a gopro. Quality was good but was annoying to handle the files.
Now I use a cheaper option of a fish eye lens with my phone along with a suction cup. And now it's way easier to get instant feedback instead of having to deal with uploading huge video files. Videos are similar.
Something like https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CSJ50HY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_lY.ZAbKBXXPWW And https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZZWYQF7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_91.ZAbEWY9N96
is this the one you are talking about?
or this one? are they all basically the same?
