I miss understood that link then. I already did the antenna mod using this one and now get fun bars however it still won't connect via wifi, only Bluetooth. Very disappointing for such a great grill.
I may swap in my extra pitboss 1150 controller and see if it works. That ones great
Sounds like you have a faulty controller. Ask them for a replacement as well as new probes. I have this same grill and its been pretty rock solid for me from a cooking perspective. There is nothing special about the CC probes, the ones from my Thermoworks Smoke also work interchangeably.
I noticed a design deficiency with the bluetooth / wifi antenna setup and installed my own high gain antenna which resolved all connectivity issues. If you take a look at other brands, you'll see they too have evolved to have external antennas of considerable size.
Here is the thread that helped me: https://www.reddit.com/r/pelletgrills/comments/ilzcc4/camp\_chef\_smokepro\_sg24\_or\_any\_wifi\_grill\_how\_to/
Here is the antenna I bought:

Would this connect to my wifi card https://www.amazon.ca/TP-Link-Archer-T6E-Selectable-Stability/dp/B016K0896K/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=archer+t6e&qid=1552878534&s=gateway&sr=8-1 I'm trying to essentially move my antennas to a different part of my room to reach the 5ghz signal better.
