I would suggest 'Urban Warfare: Housing under the Empire of Finance' by Raquel Rolnik, she's a brazilian professor who's studing the house issues for a long time. Obviously, there's a portuguese version of her book, if you are in Uruguay, maybe you could found it.
Also, the brazilian 'Observatório das Metrópoles' has been studying Housing, and on its website you can find many papers and results of its researchs.
