Have you looked at get a usb a to c adapter? Such as this one: USB C Female to USB Male Adapter 2 Pack,Type C to A Charger Cable Adapter for iPhone 11 12 Mini Pro Max,Airpods iPad,Samsung Galaxy Note 10 S20 Plus 20 FE Ultra,Google Pixel 5 4 4a 3 3A 2 XL,S21 21 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079LYHNSR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_HQ12WQWY67ZXS7ZMPWQH
The watch charger has a male USB-C connector while this Anker charger has a female USB A connector. So to plug the watch charger into the built in port you'll need something like this.
Do you have this working with a PD hub? It works on powered USB-A hubs because in that case the car is the host and the power goes out of a USB-A port where you connect your phone, but with a PD hub, usually they charge the host (goes out the plug, not the socket), and if you connect the phone to the hub as a host AA doesn't work.
It might work if the head unit natively has a USB-C port and the hub is wired to power other devices than the host, but the OP's is USB-A.
And this is important, people might try a USB-C female to USB-A male adapter to connect a USB-PD hub to a USB-A port, but these are officially banned by the USB-IF rules, because in configurations like this they become dangerous, since USB-A and B are power-directional ports. In this case it would be trying to send power out such adapter, while at the same time the head unit is trying to send power out its USB-A port. USB-C has specific power negotiation protocols to avoid this.
You can buy adapter few few bucks at dollar store or amazon, etc so you don’t need new cord
Don’t think it will charge as quick at the Type C.
But pretty sure you need the Type A input for carplay/android auto..
I use an adapter for the USB thing https://www.amazon.com/Female-Adapter-Charger-Airpods-Samsung/dp/B079LYHNSR/ref=sr\_1\_4?crid=3EJ5FI39CSWQ8&keywords=usb+a+to+c&qid=1665532519&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI1LjAyIiwicXNhIjoiNC43NiIsInFzcCI6IjQuNzUifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=usb+a+to+%2Caps%...
On my last trip I threw one of these in my bag. Worked in my rental car for car play with my usb c to lightning cable. It’s much smaller and lighter than bringing a separate cable for just a situation.
Depending on what model CPU is in the Macbook (M1, M1 Pro), you'll only be able to use a second monitor via DisplayLink.
If your Macbook Pro is a model that supports more than one monitor, your best chance to use two monitors via a Thunderbolt 3/4 dock. This will let you run two monitors, usb peripherals, and keep the laptop charged via a single USB-C connector. The Yubikey would remain docked in the laptop.
Otherwise, since the Yubikey is plain USB via a USB-C connector, you could get a conventional USB hub and use a USB A Male to USB C female to plug the yubikey into a USB hub.
For a Thunderbolt 4 dock, the Caldigit TS4 is recommended, if a bit expensive. There is a listing of USB C docks that include Thunderbolt features on this subreddit, but anything on Amazon that advertises Thunderbolt should function well enough.
Honestly, you can use the female to male adapters. I have used the to work in the car, couch, or old adapter.

Easy $10 for two of these. Will work fine.
Fear not citizen! For I have uncovered the secret lost arts of the USB-C to A Adapter!
Now you too, can use those old USB-A chargers to charge your new USC-C devices.
(Yes, Apple is full of shit, but there are ways around it if you really must keep using their products. Shame to, as the new chargers make use of a fast charging function that the older chargers don't have.)
If you have the room (i.e., both USB ports on the back free), this adapter cleans things up nicely:
USB C Female to USB Male Adapter... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079LYHNSR?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
You could also stick it in the front, but only if you position your Series X horizontally (due to the width of the dongle).
You can find dongles on amazon. Like this one Amazon.com: USB C Female to USB Male Adapter 2 Pack,Type C to A Charger Cable Adapter for iPhone 11 12 Mini Pro Max,Airpods iPad,Samsung Galaxy Note 10 S20 Plus 20 FE Ultra,Google Pixel 5 4 4a 3 3A 2 XL,S21 21: Electronics
I used this adapter to setup the YubiKey 5C that I carry around as a backup on my keychain. It's all just USB, there's nothing special, so form-factor adapters will work just fine.
Could always try something like a USB Type C to Type A converter and see if that works; I can't guarantee it would work, though!
I probably should have said that by travel I meant going places in a motorhome. We have AC 120v either by connecting to a 30a power source or by generator when stopped. It hadn’t occurred to me that I need to upgrade my battery pack to one with a USB-C Port for dry camping since I charge my watch at night and we don’t run the generator at night. We only use it for 120v appliances or to run the air conditioning.
So as I looked around amazon I saw some little adapters that are USB-A male on one end and USB-c female on the other that I’d be able to plug this new watch cable into and be able to use any of the literally 8 options in my coach. There are 3 cigarette type each with a double usb in them plus I’ve my year old battery pack. Are these little things any good?
Hi, I accidentally bought an Apple Watch Charger with USB-c and had no way to use it away from home, so I ordered these adapters from Amazon. They work fine plugged into a two port 12v adapter in our motorhome. We don’t generally bring a laptop on vacations, but use our iPads. Only caveat — they are really really tiny. It’s easy to brush on onto the floor and subsequently vacuum it up. Fortunately there were two. I realized my error and when buying my husband a short watch charger got the standard USB-A. I didn’t notice the USB-c on the first one.
Would this work my pc does not have usb c USB C Female to USB Male Adapter (2 Pack),Type C to USB A Charger Cable Adapter for iPhone 11 12 Pro Max,Airpods iPad,Samsung Galaxy Note 10 S20 Plus 20 S20+ 20+ Ultra,Google Pixel 5 4 4a 3 3A 2 XL https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079LYHNSR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_SH.AFbY75W6Y9
Sadly my laptop does not have a USB C port as it is older, would one of These work?
Here’s a USB to USB-C Adapter that will work with the Lightning-to-USB-C cable your iPhone came with. Or if you have another old iPhone Lightning Cable with the USB plug on the end that will also work without needed the adapter.
Uhm... Just stick a USB C power bank in your backpack of choice? Several backpacks even have dedicated openings for charging cords.
Edit: if you're determined to have a built in power bank, you can always get a USB A to USB C adapter off Amazon.
USB-A to USB-C
I have one of those non-name brand USB C hubs from Amazon that works fine (DesertWest brand ?!). However, I actually don't use it much anymore since I found these USB to USB-C adapters. They're small and I keep them on my USB plugs so it's no big deal and it doesn't take up space or add cords. Here is one example: https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Basesailor-Compatible-Chargers-Standard/dp/B079LYHNSR/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=usb+to+usb+c+adapter&qid=1554209975&s=gateway&sr=8-3
Also, these adapters don't get warm like the hub would. I was always skeptical about plugging power into a cheap hub anyway!
Are you looking for something like this maybe?
I found this but not sure if it'll work to charge? https://www.amazon.ca/Adapter-Basesailor-Compatible-Chargers-Standard/dp/B079LYHNSR
Use this and boom, you have a competent USB DAC/amp for cheap.
You mean 2nd hand as in used or do you mean 3rd party as in new just not from Apple?
For the car you can get a USB-A to lightning cable. Or if you want to use a USB-C to lightning cable like the one that came with the phone to can use an a USB-A to USB-C adapter like this You may want to get a car charger that is USB-C output if you want faster charging. The USB-A output in the car will work but probably charge slower.
Yes you can use any USB-C charger. The higher the wattage the faster it will charge. Recommended is 20 watts. Anker Nano is a great one and they have 20W and 30W versions. The iPhone can charge at up to 25 watts. You can feel free to get anything above 20 watts if the price is good. I have a 100 watt USB-C charger at home that I use for my iPad, Mac, and iPhone that was only $40.
Ahh my bad i forgot to add that I bought a female USB C to male USB A adapter this is the link 👇
Basesailor USB C Female to USB...
It is regular USB-A female. You would need to get an adapter such as this.
Sure, this fairly cheap one has been working for me so far:
You can an adapter like this one https://www.amazon.com/Female-Adapter-Charger-Airpods-Samsung/dp/B079LYHNSR/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3DS3O13F8GQ43&keywords=usb+c+to+usb+a+adapter&qid=1656487617&sprefix=usb+c+to+usb+a+%2Caps%2C293&sr=8-3
If you don't have usb-C on the front of the case, or on the motherboard, then you would need to use an adapter like this one:
This would work with the cable you already have: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079LYHNSR/. This would replace the cable and go directly between the drive and computer: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GGKYKQM/. These are literally the first two results on Amazon — these particular ones may be slow or low quality. It’s just an example
>Would it be necessary to buy an interface or with the Realtek audio on PC I can reproduce a good quality?
Buy an Apple USB-C dongle and an adapter (if necessary). That's all you'll need.
Same here, USB-A for backup and USB-C on my keys with a small adapter C->A (like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Female-Adapter-Charger-Airpods-Samsung/dp/B079LYHNSR ) always connected. If I want to connect to a computer, I can use it with the adapter, or without if there's a type-c port available. I remove the adapter for use with my phone (NFC doesn't always work with my phone, so I prefer to use the type-c interface)
If you don't have USB-C in your PC, you need something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Female-Adapter-Charger-Airpods-Samsung/dp/B079LYHNSR/
This is a very good post!
As far as I can see, there are not any Z690 motherboards that fulfill all of those criteria. Here's what I found in my quick research (I'm linking to example parts via Amazon US since I don't what local shops you have in NZ):
USB-C: At least one will be on-board. Additional ports will have to be either be converted from USB-A via a simple adapter right on the motherboard port(s) or via a PCIe expansion card, depending on what kind of speeds you need.
10 Gbit ethernet: Will definitely have to be added via a PCIe expansion card. There are no Z690 mobos with built-in 10 Gbit.
Wifi: There are plenty of motherboards with built-in wifi, no problem there.
Sound: Most motherboards have quite good built-in sound chips. If you need something better, it'd probably be best to go with an external DAC and amp. There are a million different options here but honestly you'd probably be starting to get into audiophile/professional audio technician territory if you are thinking about another several hundred or thousand in audio gear.
You don't need USB-C in the back. You can get this adapter
You just need a usb-c extension
>my pc doesn't have usb c
USB-C to USB-A adapter
Like this one or similar

You could get a few of the USB a to c adapters
USB C Female to USB Male Adapter 2 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079LYHNSR/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_dl_A6QRJD9YG8RHYZQ7ECJ0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Any Bluetooth mouse should work, or you can get an adapter
I would go with a 5600x or 5800x. The 5600x is similar in price to the 3700x, and not much more than a 3600x currently.
USB - USB C is a shape - there is fundamentally no difference between this and other USB shapes. Something like this changes any USB A port to a C port:
Do not let the shape fool you, the standard is more important. There's:
Just about all B550 motherboards support and have USB 3.2 Gen 2.
The Asus ProArt B550-Creator motherboard has support for any of the above standards, any Asus B550 ATX motherboard can be upgraded to support them using this card: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08ZS3D6JY
The Gigabyte B550 Vision D has support for Thunderbolt 3 and everything before it on the above list. The Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro or Master can be upgrated to support Thunderbolt 3 using this card: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08BC11XW8
No other AMD motherboards from Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, Biostar, Foxconn, etc can support those standards. They also cannot be upgraded to support them.
I would recommend the Asus B550-Plus TUF or Asus B550-F (Black) / B550-A (White) Strix. They have just about every feature. The STRIX is better with 12-16 core CPUs. The TUF is perfect with 4-6 core CPUs. Both can handle an 8 core just fine.
All the RAM you'd buy is either made by Samsung or Micron (Intel). Both work fine with AMD. Other companies just add their sticker on it, just get the cheapest 3200 kit in a color/style you like. 32GB isn't a bad idea.
The GPU does make a difference and Nvidia is the way to go. When downloading the drivers, be sure to select their studio and not game ready drivers. The 1650 Super, 1660 Super, and 2060 are all good choices. The GPU market makes it a tough call, so it's really whatever you can get a good deal on.
Right now I would only recommend the Sabrent Rocket or Corsair Force MP510 - these have among the best endurance at 1,600 TBW.
Photoshop and video editing write a whole bunch of temporary files that can quickly burn out a cheaper SSD. A drive like a 1TB Crucial P1 can as low as 200 TBW, that's 1/8th the lifespan of the above drives. Most 1TB drives aren't above 600 TBW.
The support pages for the device mention using a USB-C to USB-A adaptor to get the Bolt working on iPhones. It doesn't give any specific data requirements, so I don't think you should have any issue. Looking at Amazon, yea, there are a ton. The First One that popped up for me seems like it should do the trick. And, if for some reason it doesn't, well it's only $10 so you aren't out too much.
You can purchase a USB-C to USB-A adaptor to see if the issue is resolved.
USB-C to USB-A adaptor: https://www.amazon.com/Upgraded-Basesailor-Compatible-Chargers-Standard/dp/B079LYHNSR/ref=sr_1_3?crid=37GBVR1965ITQ&dchild=1&keywords=usb-c+to+usb+adapter&qid=1618515326&sprefix=usb-c+to+usb+a%2Caps%2C186&sr=8-3
Just plug in the USB-A into your hub once you plugged in your USB-C flash drive into the adaptor.
Use an adapter, like this one
These would let you use a USB A hub (much more common online) to connect your USB C devices. Not sure if they would work, but I have one that works with USB Audio on the Switch so you can use the dongle in handheld mode or docked. They're not in the official USB Spec, but they do work. Messy.
This thing actually follows USB-C spec, and has two USB-C ports, would be almost exactly what you're looking for. However it doesn't have pass through charging. This is pretty much the same thing, just a different brand.
Also maybe this would work for you?
What cord for $80? If you don't have a USB-C port on your computer get a $10 adapter
What about one of these?
My mobo doesn’t have a USB-C connection. Is it okay to use this instead to connect/charge the keyboard?
Why not use a type USB-A male to Type C female adaptor.?
I did exactly this and it works great! Here is the usb a to usb c adapter I used.
How about one of these?
This is what I use: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B079LYHNSR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Just add adapters: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079LYHNSR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fab_rs-EFb4X04RY2
Just get one of these:
Nothing a $5 adapter won't fix. I have one of these at the office to connect to my 12w iPad charger and it works great.
It depends on your PC. Many now have a single USB C port in the back so you can just plug it straight in. If not you need a USB-C to USB-A adapter. One might look like this:
Maybe try something like this?
That’s to bad:/ you could probably find an adapter. Tbh I’m not sure how well the ones below would work but it looks like amazon has some
usb a to usc
usb a to usb micro
You'll still need valid adb drivers. Step 3.
Also, the included cable works great with usb-c; this adapter works great with regular usb.
I use this for my PC - it doesn't have usb-c. Ones that do can use the cable included with the Quest.
Belkin makes a 3.5mm male audio AUX Jack to USB type A female adapter.
You can possibly use that with this: https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Basesailor-Compatible-Chargers-Standard/dp/B079LYHNSR
Wow. The ol' double dongle? Headphones (USB-C male) -> Dongle (USB-C female—USB-A-male) -> Dongle (USB-A female—3.55mm male)?
Is a USB C female to USB A male adapter a legit thing, or am I going to burn my house down and kill my loved ones?
For example, this type of adapter.
Youre not wrong, the only USB-C port on the dock is for the power supply.
You can use a USB-C to A adapter to connect it to one of the side ports.
>USB C Female to USB Male. These have served me well.
This will solve your issue:
