Ok well regardless id only recommend this cable. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FY28Z8F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_EXJJXYP1GM2WX84W1HDF?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1. I think It would be silly to just denounce the quest 2 when it's currently the best bang for the buck headset at 299 vs a 600-1000 dollar alternative
I wouldn’t waste the money on the link cable since there’s nothing proprietary about it I just got this one a week ago and it works great and it also has the right angle like the link cable. USB C to USB C 3.1 Gen 2 Cable 10ft, Fasgear 10Gbps 100W(20V/5A) Power Delivery with E-Marker Chip 10Gbps Data Sync 4K@60Hz Video Output Compatible for Type-C Devices,Oculus Quest Link,Macbook (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FY28Z8F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_MCMZFbRX2WNYQ?psc=1
Exactly - not everyone has the space to easily store these things away or forgets to put them away overnight (we've all done it at one point whether we admit it or not).
This cable costs £20 and would in all likelihood have done the job instead of the costly replacement we're going to need to do for PSVR2 (not to mention the down time in waiting for the headset to return). https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08FY28Z8F/?coliid=I13NE0OTCBNYH8&colid=3GE76BO82L2BZ&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
I think just like the Quest 2 it'd be a case of use any unofficial cable at your peril and all PlayStation would have to do is point people in the direction of the official USB-C cable they'd sell as an extra for those that want it.
I'd imagine something like this cable would work fine for PSVR2 is they opted for a replaceable cable: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08FY28Z8F/?coliid=I13NE0OTCBNYH8&colid=3GE76BO82L2BZ&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
Im not sure if this is suppose to happen but adding the "-vrmode oculus" in the launch options just keeps bringing me to the beat saber store page on steam when I press play.
Yeah I have a 3m (~10ft) 3.1 gen 2 (supposingly) type c to type c cable (https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B08FY28Z8F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1), my mobo has a usb-c port, I just use that. I've set my oculus Quest to 120hz in the app, but performance doesn't really look that different to 90hz for beat saber at least.
Yea, just change the audio settings
Also tip, unless you already bought it, stay away from the official quest 2 link cable, it's overpriced af
Just buy any usb to c 3.1 cable, my friend uses this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FY28Z8F/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_5C96ED5AR1AH92J5F9HZ
Airlink works great but when I want to be seated and have it charge I have this cable:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08FY28Z8F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
But I have a big problem, when I restart the unit it connects to my PC fine, I can do the cable test and it works flawlessly. But the second I get to the Oculus "home" screen it disconnects and can't use it. The cable is usbc to usbc and I have it connected to my usb c port on my desktop pc.
Ended up ordering this cable cos looks like the USB c port on my motherboard is USB 3.1 gen 2
That don’t know better. Especially since they’re not advertising it as a usb cable it’s a “Link cable”. Just make sure you buy a 3.1 gen 2 cable and if you wanna be extra with it you can get one with 10Gbps rating. This is the one I got https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FY28Z8F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_f8r6FbFP8RYVQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Virtual desktop is viable if you have a stable 5G wifi connection, i get <20ms delay.
I also purchased a;
https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08FY28Z8F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_SxlOFbSW2RRW4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Which works flawlessly for a fraction of the price.
I'm using the 10ft version of this cable without issue, I've measured 32W being delivered in Super Fast Charging 2.0 mode, from a BaseUs GaN 65W USB-C PD PPS charger.
One of the USB-C connectors is a right angle.
I looked a long time for a quality cable and finally settled on this one that showed up in the store a few weeks ago. It checks all the boxes,.. USB3,10 ft,100 watt, e-marker,claims Quest compatibility.. The link test returns 2.8Gbps. Its a thick and somewhat stiff cable. but it works great.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fasgear-Marker-Transfer-Compatible-Stations-Black/dp/B08FY28Z8F
This works well enough for my purposes when I'm not using Virtual Desktop. Decent length, and it seems to charge the Quest 2. It doesn't quite reach claimed speeds, but I don't notice anything funky with the image.
USB C to USB C 3.1 Gen 2 Cable 10ft, Fasgear 10Gbps 100W(20V/5A) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FY28Z8F
Im getting 2.1gbps on my 3rd party cable.
edit; Its plugged into the ‘vr ready’ usb c slot on my b450 gaming pro carbon AC (MSI)
I have the same ROG Strix X570-E Gaming board. I also went from a Rift S to the Meta Pro. With the Rift S, I never had to worry about charging the headset, since it was always connected to the PC.
One of the problems is that the motherboard isn't doing Power Delivery through the USB-C ports which meant that the battery was never charging while playing, like I was used to with the Rift S.
I bought two things and now it works great. My headset battery is at 100% the entire time I'm using it and I'm linked by cable to play any of the PC VR games.
First, a high end 10-foot USB-C cable with all the needed bells and whistles. (Cyber Monday sale now for $16.79)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FY28Z8F?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Second, a USB-C card that supports 30W Power Delivery and is USB 3.2 Gen 2 with 20Gigs of bandwidth for the video. ($79.99)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BCFN6HV2?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
The bandwidth is shared across all of the card's USB ports. So to make sure it works flawlessly, just don't plug in any additional USB devices other than the Meta Pro.
I use this: Fasgear. It's 3 meters and per I think 20V/5A.
Here is a second cable. Too short for my preference but it says it's 10 Gbps and 100W.

Old thread but came across now so I’ll post mine as of December, 2021:

d) Quest 2 / Oculus App Version 35.0.0.73.175

Ryzen 5 3600 Rx 5700xt 32gb 3200mhz ddr4 Cable - USB C to Type C 3.1 Gen 2 Cable... https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08FY28Z8F?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Yeah, I felt the same. Not sure if the official one is better or not, but I bought this and it's fine.
USB C to USB C 3.1 Gen 2 Cable... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FY28Z8F?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
This one says it's 10Gbps, which would mean it's rated better than the official cable, correct?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08FY28Z8F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 This is the cable that I'm trying to use with the Quest 2 for Link currently.
my 5m cable was £15 on amazon , comes with a right angle connector aswell get 3gbps which is good according to Oculus link. No issues in the many hours I've used it.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08FY28Z8F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_GZLze4P4BHXpY
RTX 3080, 9900K, this link cable: https://www.amazon.de/Fasgear-Marker-Transfer-Compatible-Stations-Schwarz/dp/B08FY28Z8F/ (connected directly to the motherboard). I think I can see two lines, not four.
I bought this one, get a 90degree usb-c to usb--c 3.1 cable, gives me 2.8mbps on Oculus speed test which is good.
I bought a generic 3.1 cable because the official website won't have genuine ones until Dec 8 and Amazon Prime says 1-2 MONTHS for shipping if I order one there. Can I still get one for dropping a bunch of money on two Quest 2's and a bunch of accessories, please?
Also, is there a noticeable difference between the official cable and this one? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08FY28Z8F/ Will it be lighter weight or faster? Anything to justify 3x the cost of the official cable?

I bought both of these and they work great, Fasgear is a trustworthy company
I bought this cable as it claimed 10gbs data speeds. I like the robust quality it has its from amazon . It also charges too.

I bought this cable to save me plugging and unplugging the it from the Q2 when i need to link or charge. Also from amazon

But to be honest, if you use ALVR or Virtual desktop you don't need the link cable often. A half decent usb power bank connected via the supplied power cable works great to charge while playing.
Maybe - I'm not a fan of no-name adapters.
Try this one - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fasgear-Marker-Transfer-Compatible-Stations-Black/dp/B08FY28Z8F
