Does it matter that this PS is 36V out not 38V?
I do have that serial connector. It was originally attached to an older dell laptop which had a bad habit of crashing. I tried to install Linux/Homeseer but still had the crashing problem. Then thought I would use a spare RPi with this adaptor:

Never got it to work. I couldn’t tell whether it was because I was attempting to convert the scripting language from VBScript to VB.net or whether there was no communication through the usb to serial converter.
