Correct. Bought one last time this deal came around.
$10 on Amazon got me one with an easy absolute cowitness. I see now that it is a whole $13. Haven't taken it out to the range just yet.
If you're an absolute cheap bastard, Amazon Warehouse also has them used like new with original packaging for $39.51. Grab this riser for full cowitness or the 1" for 1/3 cowitness.
You might not like my answer but the cheap UTG .83" on Amazon for like $8 has done everything I could ask of it. If name brands don't bother you too much it's worth a shot.
Edit: I lied, it was $7. For that much what's the harm in trying.

Things like these. A lot of choices with different heights and lengths. Just search something like "picatinny rail risers" and you should get some examples.
Is it possible to use a riser to still use the built in ghost ring with the TRS-25? like this: https://www.amazon.com/UTG-Med-pro-Compact-Riser-Mount/dp/B003TX2BD4/ref=pd_bxgy_200_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B003TX2BD4&pd_rd_r=D1QE3S33FNDWS7W41P4G&pd_rd_w=Xt0oH&pd_rd_wg=Chpcs&psc=1&refRID=D1QE3S33FNDWS7W41P4G
Yep. You can get them without the riser for $40 when they are on sale. You can then get a UTG Med-pro Compact Riser Mount (0.83" High) for $10 bucks and have a co-witnessed sight.
Looks like it isn't. It's $70. I'll keep my eyes open for deals though it looks like they come up every month or so. One more question, someone in that thread recommended this riser, do I need one to be able to use it if I already have a top rail?
https://www.amazon.com/UTG-Med-pro-Compact-Riser-Mount/dp/B003TX2BD4
Thanks for reminding me about the riser. It didn't come with one, but I have one of these that I bought to go with it: UTG Med-pro Compact Riser Mount, 0.83" High, 3 Slots https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003TX2BD4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_m8fjzbMV8S39H
I'll throw it in. PM me.
Agreed. I've got a half dozen TRS-25 and they are excellent. You can sometimes pick them up for $50. On an AR, you'll want the high rise mount, but that's a 1/3rd cowitness and a better alternative is to get one from UTG for $10 and use that with the regular TRS-25: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TX2BD4/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
For the 10/22, you don't need the elevated mount. The TRS-25 is perfect on the 10/22.
UTG riser: 3-slot medium profile.
I use one of these with my TRS-25; it fits perfectly like it was made for it. I have used it on a 12 gauge Remington 870 and an 5.56 AR15; it's been rock solid on both and the price point befits the optic in question.
Make sure to order a riser for the Bushnell sight so that it cowitnesses with your front sight. Most people that order from amazon recommend this one, but any riser that is approximately that height (0.83 inches) should work.
Obligatory You need the .83" UTG mount to cowitness the TRS-25 on an AR
The cheaper version: https://smile.amazon.com/UTG-Med-pro-Compact-Riser-Mount/dp/B003TX2BD4
The lighter/nicer version: https://smile.amazon.com/UTG-Super-Slots-Picatinny-Riser/dp/B01CKYYH16
It's still cheaper to go the Amazon route because you can grab a UTG riser and choose full cowitness or 1/3 cowitness.
It's not a bad deal from Midway if you have to have the factory riser though.
Grab one of the $7 UTG risers on Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/UTG-Med-pro-Compact-Riser-Mount/dp/B003TX2BD4
or from Amazon too.. of course it's $13-ish nowadays..
https://smile.amazon.com/UTG-Med-pro-Compact-Riser-Mount/dp/B003TX2BD4
UTG Riser from Amazon is like $10 and all of mine work fantastic.
Edit: Here's a link
UTG .83 riser for perfect co-witness with this red dot: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TX2BD4
I have several of these and they work great on all my firearms including large calibers. Thanks OP, in for 2!
Agreed, I have this mount, and it co-witnesses the TRS with the iron sights wonderfully. It hasn't moved since I installed it either.
I've heard from Amazon that this is the riser to get for it from them:
I run this same red dot on my AR, it was a .83 inch riser on Amazon and makes an absolute cowitness with my front sight post and MBUS rear sight. Heres the link to it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TX2BD4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I believe it depends on your sights. http://www.amazon.com/UTG-Medium-Profile-Riser-Mount/dp/B003TX2BD4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1445266510&sr=8-2&keywords=medium+riser+mount Might be worth trying. 1/3 vs absolute cowitness. I didn't like the irons being in the way. https://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=3&f=18&t=542595
This one gave me absolute cowitness with my trs-25 before it went back to a 1022
This work to help with the Pinty issue?

The only time I've ever shot 22 on the clock was a steel match with my S&W 15-22 wearing the Fastfire 3 that used to be on my 10/22. I don't really think my dot window held me back any, but I'm really used to an AR and chasing steel around a construction fence is a slightly different game than steel challenge.
As always, I'd start lurking the Brian Enos forums for some secondhand opinions. This thread seems to be what you're interested in.
Edit: On the 15-22 I have the Fastfire on this mount.
Absolutely!! I learned it all the long, expensive way so happy to share.
See how low the TRS-25 sits low on the rail — hard to get a nice view down the pipe with a normal cheek weld so you add the little UTG Riser and it’s like a little booster seat that brings it up to a more natural eye level.
If you really want to get fiddly with the risers, the 0.83” one will give you “full co-witness” with iron sights like the Magpul MBUS (the dot lines up perfectly with the sights) and a 1” riser gives you “1/3 co-witness” meaning the dot sits above the sights a little bit. Not like anyone really needs battle sights on a 22 plinker, but hey
Just a cheapo UTG riser.
Try this for absolute cowitness... one reviewer indicated cowitness with magpul BUIS
Don't quote me but I believe the 1" high riser would give you a lower third cowitness
Check out /r/gunsforsale and /r/gundeals (May your wallet rest in peace). Here's a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot for $49 You will need this riser. Buy that before buying BUIS.
That rifle may or may not be worth $500. MI uppers are usually decent.
For .223/5.56 $0.30 per round is generally a good price for brass case ammo. Walmart and some other stores sell steel case for as low as $0.20/round, quality varies. The best cheap ammo is Wolf Gold, purchased in bulk online. Use www.ammoseek.com to find it.
Keep an eye on Palmetto State Armory's website. They include PMAGs with tons of deals, effectively using them as packing peanuts. Use a prepaid credit card or www.privacy.com for buying from PSA due to ongoing, infrequent, credit card theft.
I have only had time to take mine out shooting once and it held up just fine. The one I linked to on amazon has 4.5 star average over 752 reviews so it looks like hardly anyone else is having trouble with it either.
For absolute cowitness you would want the medium height here-- https://www.amazon.com/UTG-Med-pro-Compact-Riser-Mount/dp/B003TX2BD4/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_sims?ie=UTF8
For 1/3 cowitness you would want the one I linked earlier-- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TWZG4G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The .83" riser will get cowitness with many BUS. This is the one you want: https://www.amazon.com/UTG-Med-pro-Compact-Riser-Mount/dp/B003TX2BD4 I have this riser with this dot (total steal for 16usd after rebate) and I think these sights (sold under TONS of different names): https://www.amazon.com/Green-Blob-Outdoors-Military-Picatinny/dp/B00O0J5NS6
Gotcha. Keep in mind, you will need a spacer for the basic TRS-25 (unless you get the 'ar optics' model). I use this one for absolute co-witness height and have this for lower 1/3 co-witness height. The image below describes the difference between absolute and lower 1/3rd types of co-witnessing in case you didn't know. If you aren't going to ever use iron sights or you are going to get flip up irons, go absolute. If you are going to get fixed irons eventually, go lower 1/3rd.
I just finished my AR and used this mid one from amazon
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TX2BD4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Pic of it finished
I got this for cowitness on a Fieldsport red dot. So yes...probably 3/4
The TRS-25 is a great little optic. I have several and they've all been fine, even on my .458 Socom. Get this riser for absolute co-witness.
Something like this?
UTG Med-pro Compact Riser Mount, 0.83" High, 3 Slots https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003TX2BD4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_D5IRxbFK19QAE
A Mid rise riser would make it co-witness IF you had sights..
http://www.amazon.com/UTG-Med-pro-Compact-Riser-Mount/dp/B003TX2BD4
With no riser it's going to be awfully low.
What riser was that? I'm about to purchase this one and want to make sure it the correct hight: UTG Medium Profile Riser Mount with 3 slots
I got this one so I could co-witness my A2 front sight and it's pretty good. Much easier on the neck.
Thanks!
It's actually a cheap airsoft sight: http://ontargetairsoft.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5_32&products_id=830 With a utg medium profile riser: http://www.amazon.com/UTG-Medium-Profile-Riser-Mount/dp/B003TX2BD4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1342338235&sr=8-1&keywords=utg+riser
Less than 100 dollars all together and the riser puts it at a very comfortable height for an AR style rifle. I normally wouldn't have bothered with anything made for airsoft on my real guns but it has taken a serious amount of abuse and still works great. I figured it would handle the .22 recoil just fine and it did.
