can't speak for wax but I use this and it's been fine to use everywhere. As long as you test it the first time you use it, apply it evenly and don't leave it on too long (I only leave it about 6-7 minutes) you should be fine. Oh and don't use any body soaps or stuff for 12hrs after using it

Just be wary because while it's fine for me I've heard that it's very very unsuitable for some people down there. Do a spot test first.
