Try using a neem oil solution. It’s less harsh than bottled pesticides. Neem oil, dish soap, and water (I use distilled in lieu of tap to keep the minerals/salts/heavy metals residue etc a non-issue) in a spray bottle. Neem can be purchased on Amazon for pretty cheap (here is a link and Dawn is the best dish soap. I can think of the proportions off the top of my head, but it’s an extremely easy google. Spray every leaf on the top and undersides, and the stems as well.
If the infestation is bad I recommend changing the soil. Get it away from any other plants. Take the plant out of the pot and put the dirt/roots directly into a small garbage bag and gently shake off as much dirt as you can. Get rid of the bag. Rinse the whole plant in cool water and wash the roots thoroughly (just water should be fine). Repot in fresh, rich soil. This will help ensure that no eggs & larvae stick around after spraying the leaves, leading to a fresh infestation once that next life cycle starts. Keep a close eye on it in the following weeks. Thrips are notoriously a bitch to get rid of, but if you do it right you can eradicate them without too much fuss.
I know it sounds like a lot in writing, but it’s really pretty easy and doesn’t take that long.
