I got a lamp off Amazon - here’s a link. I don’t use it consistently but I liked it when I was waking up very early in winter. It was a hurdle to do lots of research to find one so I know how you feel!
I also have a sunrise alarm clock from Phillips. It doesn’t really work for me as an alarm clock because the sounds aren’t for me and i just roll away from the light when it wakes me up. But it’s a nice piece of equipment, and I think you could use that as a wake up light for 10+ mins each morning if you could sit comfortably in front of it.
Yes I completely get that. It’s great that you’re being proactive. I wonder if vitamin D may help ? If walking outside during the day may help ? A lightbox may help ?
They’re selling this one. I saw a post last week that it was on sale at the Kenaston location so hopefully it’s still available - Verilux HappyLight VT32

Eielson area is a whole different level of cold than Anchorage area (or Minnesota).

- darkness... be prepared to get a SADD light & use it for 15-30 minutes a day (most have better luck using it in the morning while having breakfast/coffee).

- at Eielson, you are about 25-30 miles away from decent shopping (Costco, Walmart, Fred's)

- PFD when do you arrive....
The year end makes a difference for the PFD (money Alaskan residents get for being here). If possible/reasonable, it's better to be here Dec. 31 (or earlier) than Jan. 01 or later
usually $1,000+ per person annually
