I never went the powered fountain route (was intimidated by the maintenance) and my cat has flipped her bowels and dragged it around since the beginning. To the point I kept her water in the bathtub to save me the effort of cleanup.
I picked up this one and only had one initial incident where she sort of dug around in the bowl, I guess to test the depth?
But it’s been over a month and no flipping, no dragging it around. Part of why I chose this one is that it’s angled to help prevent the bowl pressing on her whiskers, which is the theory as to why some cats do it. Much luck on your journey!
