Same thing happened to me, I got a good mount from a weird company (VIVO) on amazon for my 4 monitors, and was impressed by the quality of the mount, how sturdy and premium it was. Only thing I'd change is getting the clamp like you instead of the V-shaped foot...
I honestly never understood the benefits of a monitor mount... Until I got mine!
Welp... in doing some research... it would appear I need something like this.
Any ways around buying a new monitor stand?
If not can anyone recommend a quality "4 monitor" stand - similar to the one posted above?
My 3 model stand cost $160. This 4 model costs around $90. There seems to be a gigantic rush of these generic stands coming out - with companies just putting their own badge on it.
Are they all the same, more or less?
On my mobile... but here's one on amazon (and there are many more)
VIVO Quad LCD Monitor Desk Stand/Mount Free Standing with Optional bolt-through mount 3 + 1 = 4 Screens upto 24" (STAND-V004T) [link]
I also got a VIVO!
Looking to get a 1440, 144hz in the future to mount at the top.
Sure man, I got the stand HERE. I Actually have an old 5:4 monitor i was planning on mounting above, but my gpu wont display 4 monitors alone. I personally use the portrait monitors for a lot of things. It helps a lot to have an email open and being able to view all the text, or have photoshop on my main screen and all my tools on a second. I also love to play League of Legends, which doesnt utilize more than one monitor for gaming, so I have champion guides along the left and right, so I dont have to leave the game to scroll through them. my Mounts do swivel/pivot so I occasionally rotate one monitor back in landscape to watch videos or just multitasking.
Can you verify if this is the same stand? It looks pretty similar to me.
Here you go this is on Amazon Canada btw
I'm using this mount:
It's very sturdy and can be used on the stand or mounted to the desk if you want to drill a hole in it.
Asus VG248QE for my main/gaming monitor
ASUS VS248Hx3 for my extra monitors
and this mount just for the record: [link]
take a look here:
This is what I use m80
Quad LCD Monitor Desk Stand/Mount Free Standing with Optional bolt-through mount 3 + 1 = 4 Screens upto 24" by VIVO (STAND-V004T) [link]
Works great! Easy cable management too :)
Edit: You could grab one of these to do it.
All monitors have to run at the same resolution, so you would have to run the center monitor at 1080p when playing in surround. If it's a different size than the other two, it will be difficult to arrange them so the edges line up smoothly. You'd have to have the side monitors significantly closer/further away than the center to make things transition smoothly from the center to the sides. It may not bother you, but even having my side monitors slightly off broke the whole "window" effect for me. I bought this stand, and it's been decent enough. The base is a bit cheap, you have to get a bit rough with the arms to get them perfectly symmetrical, but it works great once it's set up. If I had it to do over again, I might have gone with something like this, then used a separate arm for the top monitor.
