I have this Vizio bar and man does it blow up the room whenever I play anything. Playing God of War on this thing was amazing
VIZIO SB3821-C6 38-Inch 2.1 Channel Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SMBG8QY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_NRMxBbE18D144
I have the SONOS playbar / sub / play:1's and they're great. Playbar on it's own it might leave you wanting.
If I may make a suggestion; I have another room in my house (Garage / man cave) where I needed a playbar but the SONOS would have been overkill. I purchased a VIZIO playbar from Amazon because it was like $90 and I could return it, plus the reviews were really good.
It sounds SO good. No joke man, I was blown away. Buy it from Amazon, if you don't like it just return it.
I purchased a Vizio 38" 2.1 soundbar system. It's simple and AMAZING. It goes well with my Vizio 55" TV. You can get it on Amazon here. http://www.amazon.com/VIZIO-SB3821-C6-38-Inch-Wireless-Subwoofer/dp/B00SMBG8QY
Has great bass and audio is very crisp and clear. It connects to my TV via TOSlink (optical audio). My PS4 connects to my TV via HDMI. That's all you need. I couldn't have made a better purchase.
I picked this one up on amazon about 3 months ago and really like it. There are even cheaper ones out there tho that will almost certainly sound better then the built in TV ones, depends on your preference.
Thanks. I heard the sound is ok not game changing. I currently use a Vizio 2.1 sound bar. Should I get a better one? I don’t see the sense in buying a Sonos but I guess I can fork out $400ish
Not sure if it's the same one Dan has...
I have this one. It replaced an older Sony sound bar with built in subwoofer. I am really happy with it. The sound quality is noticeably better than my old one and $150 is a steal.
The only issue with it is as some of the reviewers stated it will occasionally cut out and require a factory reset to get working again. I've only had to do that twice in the year or so I've owned it so don't consider that big of an issue.
Get yourself a sound bar that does auto leveling. This little $120 wonder changed my TV and movie viewing for life.
awesome idea. I do have a smaller apartment and believe the echo will hear me from anywhere in it so this may be a better solution. i found this on on amazon and it says you can disable the eco feature that turns it off after no activity. sound bar
VIZIO SB3821-C6 38-Inch 2.1 Channel Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer
$158 before shipping. Minimal and subdued design with a big sound for small to medium sized rooms. Wireless sub is nice for hiding away somewhere. It can be connected to via bluetooth.
I bought a phillips soundbar on clearance for $90 a while back for a small bedroom i didn't care about. was really surprised by the sound, but it only works in a very small room. Had a wired sub. Dialogue was a major improvement of tv speakers. But I can't find anything similar for sale currently. For new products, I think you'll have to stretch your budget to $150 to be happy:
I usually recommend setting the subwoofer level way down as these things tend to be very boomy, especially if placed in a corner. It will sound decent at normal volumes. Big room, longer viewing distance, or higher volumes these will start to break quickly.
That is the one ive been using for a while. It really bumps hard and produces nice sound. I only paid 128 for mine though so you could probably find it somewhere around that price
Have you considered a soundbar? I know folks are going to go nuts but if you're looking at computer speakers ect why not. It will give you more inputs, a remote and tone controls. Something like this Vizio 2.1 $140 should be minimalistic. It's a square bar with a small cube.
So you want a sound "bar" not a sound "base". You linked a soundbase in the initial post which is why I focused on those for recommendations.
The soundbar that you linked is IMO way overpriced. I wouldn't spend more than $200 on a sound bar. I would look at something way more affordable like this Vizio for $140.
I've had this one for a few years and it's been great.
how about the polk audio one I linked above, it's 2.1 and the alrernative right now is this one
I have a question regarding hooking up a newly purchased subwoofer to an already installed soundbar that came with a wireless subwoofer. Can it even be done and if it can how exactly?
I’ve had the soundbar for a year plus and it has been ok. But recently I had been thinking (no real research yet) on adding more sound or at least a bigger subwoofer. Costco was having a sale on the above sub and I spur of the moment bought it since the sale was ending that day. I have finally opened the box and started looking at the connections and don’t think it will work as is.
Would something like this allow it to work?
If that does work, is that a good brand or if anyone has any suggestions in that price range please feel free to suggest something.
I would like to keep the current soundbar and wireless sub and just add the new sub in as well. So I am not looking to get a receiver(?) or ... sorry I am not sure what it would be called, where everything hooks into the main thing and then splits out. If a fix for my setup requires that I would probably just return the sub and properly research an intro level (louder, I am not too picky) sound system then what I currently have.
Thank you for your audio input.

I think it is IR, it's this Sound Bar.
The comments section say it's IR.
Either one will sound a hell of a lot better than the speakers in your tv.
Here ya go
BA TVee 25 $150
I'm not sure that it's worth the price as it's just a 2.1 soundbar. I would look at other soundbars like this Vizio 2.1 for $140.
If you wanted something in between a soundbar and normal setup get this 2.0 Vizio for $80 with this Dayton Sub 800 $100 for about the same price as the Razer. Good thing about this setup is the digital and analog inputs, plus a real sub that you can use in future setups.
I've been looking very hard at the VIZIO SB3821-C6
Very cheap. Goes for about $150 bucks (with the sub) and has great reviews.
For less than $150, I'd go for a soundbar setup. I haven't heard it, but the Vizio soundbar with a wireless subwoofer might be up your alley. It's not going to give you awesome audiophile-ish sound but it'll be worlds better than just the TV speakers.
I also have a Vizio 4k TV and got this soundbar and sub...works great!
Connect the soundbar to the audio out port & turn off the Vizio internal speaker via the TV menu....pretty easy!
I was looking to get a soundbar/speaker system mainly for my tv, for playing xbox and listening to music. I saw this on Amazon and was wondering what the quality of it might be, or for any other suggestions.
My budget is $100-$200.
