Vornado Evap40 4-Gallon Evaporative Humidifier https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O0WOO74/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_LiF0DbB01D37M
This is the one I’ve been using for the past two years. It’s packed well so I wouldn’t worry about it being broken. It can be loud but it’s super effective.
Don't get an ultrasonic (which most of them are) because they leave annoying white dust everywhere. I bought this evaporative humidifier and it works great. I like that it holds 4 gallons of water so I don't have to refill it that often.

I got this one because it holds two gallons of water. I still have to refill it every other day. https://www.amazon.com/Vornado-Evap40-4-Gallon-Evaporative-Humidifier/dp/B00O0WOO74/ref=asc_df_B00O0WOO74/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167159788949&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9914150461001698608&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hv...
I currently own the Vornado Evap40, which has a pretty powerful upward-facing exhaust fan. I’m thinking of attaching some ducting to the humidifier’s fan, and running the ducting into my grow tent (with the humidifier being outside of the grow tent).
We have a Vornado 4 Gal Evaporative Humidifier and I'm very happy with it.
Our home gets so dry in the winter that not only do my plants look unhappy, but my whole family gets terrible dry skin, and the static electricity buildup is terrible!
We've had the Vornado since the end of November, and I notice a major difference in my plants, and none of us are struggling with the itchy, flaky skin that normally hits by mid-December.
Our whole house humidifier is brand new, but still can’t keep up. We use evaporative humidifiers. This Vornado pumps out the most humidity and has the largest tanks: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O0WOO74/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_api_glt_fabc_XRZ87CD5ZP1VME1123TS. We just use a water conditioner with plain tap water. Using distilled water gets old quick.
This thing is my rockstar. 4 gallon tank lasts about a day on full blast 24/7. Takes two wicks (replaceable). The main tank area separates completely for easy washing, but since it's evaporative and the fan runs long after the water is gone, it doesn't stay moist, so we haven't needed to clean it yet. The only downside is that the dual tanks are awkward to get under the bathroom sink faucet, but we have a little sprayer that attached to the toilet (for rinsing cloth diapers) and that works perfectly for filling it up.

I will never ever ever go back to a cool mist humidifier. I already have a full time job thank you very much.
Hi!
Not sure if I'm too late or anything, but we had gotten some humidifiers that left the white film everywhere no matter what we did.
We got this humidifier (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O0WOO74/ref=cm_sw_r_wa_apip_IqRi5uLFIfXI5) and there's no film anywhere, and we just use the faucet water. It's definitely helps with our dry noses and the static in our apartment.
I'm using this. I have pets, so I had to be picky about choosing an "ultrasonic" one vs. a regular classic humidifier. I chose the regular classic kind and its great.
This one does a whole grow room, and/or whole level of your house if placed in a centralized area. Each tank is 2 gallons. The 4 gallons will last 2 days at full power at 30% dry humidity !
I ordered a Vornado Evap40, and it was just delivered today. It holds 4 gallons of water, has adjustable fan speeds and adjustable humidity with auto-shutoff. It’s supposed to be able to treat 1000 square feet. I’ve been having trouble keeping my RH above the upper 30’s with my current humidifier, and this one got quite a few good reviews. I’ll report back once I have it up and running.

Thread's a bit long in the tooth, but I recently got a Vorando evaporative humidifier: https://www.amazon.com/Vornado-Evap40-4-Gallon-Evaporative-Humidifier/dp/B00O0WOO74/ref=pd_lpo_201_tr_img_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=G9WRK5D3YFEGW9T3JGQQ
It may look complex, but it's very simple. The jugs on each side hold water, and let it into a shallow reservoir which is the entire bottom of the unit; super easy to take the jugs out to fill. Inside there are two pieces of fabric mesh which make contact with the bottom of the water and wick it up until they are moist. The fan at the top of the unit sucks air through those wicks, humidifying the air.
When you fill up the jugs, you add a bacteriostatic treatment to the water which prevents bacteria and mold from growing in the water. If the unit were ever to get mold growth it would be in the bottom area, which is easily separated from the top and could go in the dishwasher on sanitize.
Only downside is you have to replace the wicking things every 1-2 months as they build up minerals from the water which makes them hardened. Soaking them in 1:1 vinegar/water every few weeks helps extend their life, but you're looking at $13 spend every few months on new ones, so not quite buy it once and forget about it.
I got a humidity sensor and it has increased our house humidity from 35% to 60%, giving extreme relief to my dry skin problems.
Suggestion: I don't know what kind of humidifiers you're using, but if you use the vaporizing ultrasonic quiet kind of humidifier, that may be the problem.
I suggest one of these for your grow room. And if necessary additionally one of these for your house as a whole. Place this in the room you're growing in, and keep the doors shut as much as possible. If necessary put the unit right next to a fan blowing it into the tent.
If doing both units, do one in your grow room and one about 10 feet outside the door of your grow room or near where your HVAC air return is, so the humid air can be sucked into your home system and blow the more humid air around the whole house.
The ones I linked will do a whole level of a house even in very dry conditions, but you'll have to fill it up once every 2 days or so if its 20% there. Holds 4 gallons (which is a lot in comparison to others). There are many more that are similar, but the vornado one is the one I am using so I can vouch for it being good.
I am not using a whole home humidifier, so I can't speak on that unit, but it should work if you're very dry.
These kinds that I linked do not spray mist into the air, they're true humidifiers, not the ultrasonic kind. The ultrasonic kind seem to be more for childrens sleeping next to their bed etc (for smaller uses).
Then you want a big boy. https://www.amazon.com/Vornado-Evap40-4-Gallon-Evaporative-Humidifier/dp/B00O0WOO74/ or similar that handles your size and has large tanks so you aren't filling it every other day. https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/humidifiers/buying-guide/index.htm speaks to cool vs. warm type which you should research.

I like this one because of the big tanks. Otherwise you will have to refill way too much. Even with 4 Gals I still have to fill them every other day.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00O0WOO74/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and sometimes a second ultrasonic one inside the tent.
good luck
my wicking humidifer does not have a filter of any kind. Just a basin and a wick and a fan. it works great.
