If anybody is looking for a 2 3/8" hole saw, I used this one to cut through 16 gauge stainless steel to make a custom lid for my pot.
I have that same monitor! LG ultrawide.
I would wall mount the monitor to the recessed wall behind the desk because that base eats up a lot of desk space. It's not the largest desk, and about 1/3 of it is behind the monitor and dead space.
Cable clean up will help also. Maybe [one of these](velcro cable ties) and maybe drill a grommt on the desktop if possible with one of these and these.
A grommet might allow you to push the PC flush against the back wall, with the back end pointing towards the grommet, to maximize existing cables at their length.
