3m makes a clear vinyl that goes on really easy. Here's an Amazon link to the stuff. You can get it other sizes as well, that's just the first link that popped up. I've used this stuff on so many projects that I just keep a roll of it in my workshop.
It'll protect the art on the plate and cut down on the nose quite a bit. I'd also suggest putting some stick-on cork on the bottom to protect any wood furniture and to further cut down on noise.
All of that out of the way; that looks awesome! My wife made me something similar shortly after my first daughter was born and I use it every single day.
There are kits of precut vinyl meant for specific frames, but they tend to be on the expensive side.
I got a roll of this stuff recently and it's been great so far: https://www.amazon.com/VViViD-Clear-Protection-Choose-Including/dp/B01LXOPYQ4/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=Paint+Protection+Vinyl+Film&qid=1631388575&sr=8-3
This is what I picked up for whenever they get around to cashing my check!

According to my amazon history, here's what I used:
Thanks! I found this on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LXOPYQ4/ref=psdc_15718521_t2_B004VG88MQ, so will give it a try. I watched your video again -- most of those 'top 10' hack videos have 1 or 2 tips that are actually worthwhile, but I found most if not all of yours to be helpful/interesting -- good job!
We were going to pick up Yakima, but in Canada there is a back order on one set of feet.
The local outfitters recommended the Rhino Rack; they are a touch cheaper but have a lifetime warranty and decent reviews. Also picked up a small role of 3M PPF that I will place under contact points to help protect the paint from any scratches.

do you have any exp on safely removing vinyl? Amazon has some decent strips of clear vinyl available. https://www.amazon.com/VViViD-Clear-Protection-Choose-Including/dp/B01LXOPYQ4
I saw someone mention this before
