I put a carbon fiber vinyl on the cover and then put the stickers on that. Easier to remove them all if you have to. On rare stickers I scan them and then print a copy on sticker paper that way I keep the original plus I can resize them too.

I'm thinking of just buying a roll of this similar looking vinyl wrap and cutting them myself. It looks pretty much the same as the "carbon fiber" touch pad covers that are being sold separately? If I buy the roll instead, I'll have a lot of extras in case they wear out.
I ordered 1 of the 5x1 of this wrap:
VViViD XPO Black Carbon Fiber 5ft x 1ft 8yr Car Wrap Vinyl Roll with Air Release https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00L9J4JRG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_JZ0NYM39V3VXZA0V0R8J?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It is the cherry red tintcoat 😀
Are you putting vinyl on this or just going for a conservative black? You might consider this carbon fiber wrap. It's all weather resistant and it looks even better in person.

I used vvivint vinyl they have their + premium line and it’s only like $2 more but it’s worth it felt easier to install/cut & had better air bubble release. A 1x5’ was enough for a ps5 ,controller & a laptop
Thanks man 🙂
I used this one. Remember to grab some adhesion promoter while you're at it. It really helps it stick, especially around the edges.
I used this one. Remember to use some adhesion promoter also, it really makes it stick! X-acto blade would really help get a clean cut around the edges too.
Good luck 👍
The letters look like they are under a bunch of gloss. I dont think you can get to them unless you go from underneath maybe or you end up shaving several layers. I say you go for vinyl wrap. If you maybe get a hole puncher and some vinyl wrap I bet you you can get a nice pro look.
This is the type of vinyl wrap I use for the top :

If you want black carbon fiber, or white I have some and can send you a small strip enough for the buttons, just let me know.
I bought this off Amazon and had enough to do the center console and dash with a healthy amount left over. I used scissors and an x-acto knife to cut it. That was the most time-consuming part, making sure i left enough overlap and then slowly cutting that down as I wrapped.
It was given to me so I am not sure of the exact product . But here’s a link to amazon and you should be able to find a good one there , hope this helps!

Here is a pic of my Index and a link to the amazon carbon fiber vinyl wrap I used.
I used this vinyl sheet with this hole punch.
You could always put the io at the back, put a vinyl decal to cover the bottom (now front) and add some feet with a 90° PSU cable connector.
$10 for vinyl wrap or a cut to size sheet of acrylic and some double sided tape.... Or leave it is is lol
$10- Tall adhesive feet (could go shorter for cheaper, but you want them tall to fit the PSU extension)
$3 low profile PSU extension (these are lower profile than what you'll find on Amazon... I spent a few days looking lol) Other super low profile connectors can be found on taobao and purchased through super buy
So an additional ~$25 to make it work... But that's up to you if you want to go that route. :)
I don't have a very steady hand and I've never done anything like this before (last time I used a can of spray paint was over a decade ago) so I was incredibly nervous that I'd fuck it up, but it turned out better than I was expecting. I was worried that the paint would be patchy but this stuff worked wonderfully. No streaking or unevenness after 3-4 layers.
Here is the wrap I used to "combine" the two bumper parts. The 1'x5' option was just the right amount. Stuck straight to the bumper piece with no heat required. Ended up eyeballing the curvature of the end pieces because I didn't have a protractor handy. I think it looks pretty even but then again I'm not the best judge of these kind of things haha.
I used painters tape to mask off the bumper but somehow still managed to get a little bit of paint where it wasn't wanted. Came right off with a little bit of Turtle Wax Scratch & Swirl remover and a microfiber cloth.
Lastly I'm not satisfied with how the logo blackout turned out. The paint worked great for the grille but streaked and bubbled heavily. Took several layers, along with some buffing with more of the Turtle Wax stuff to smooth out the bubbles. Still not 100% satisfied but the flaws aren't really noticeable anyway unless you get up close and scrutinize the vehicle.
Anyway what do you think?

It’s very affordable I got it from amazon! VViViD XPO Black Carbon Fiber 5ft x 1ft Car Wrap Vinyl Roll with Air Release Technology https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00L9J4JRG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_831yG1RN5EONf

VViViD XPO Black Carbon Fiber 5ft... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00L9J4JRG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I’m extremely happy with it. Nice matte finish
I used this from Amazon. The 5x1 roll was enough to wrap the center console and dash with a generous amount left over.
I used an adhesive vinyl leather like material to cover it. I bought it from amazon. Here is the link:

Make sure to clean the case very well so it will be easier for the adhesive to stick to the wood.
If you only want the top pane of the skin just get some carbon fiber skin vinyl and a razor blade, it's really easy to cut clean.

(hopefully op sees this as well) there are two ways of doing it.
Cost: (~$10-15) Either buying some vinyl and first taking some paper to trace the shape/dimensions of the gear cover then tracing that paper shape onto the vinyl and cutting it to size and applying it over the cover (use a heatgun or a hair dryer to smooth out the corners and any bubbles). Alternatively in this method, pop off the plastics like you would for installing AndroidAuto/CarPlay to get access to the gear piece to easier apply the vinyl onto then reassemble. (Do this only if you know what you're doing)
Cost: (~$25+) go onto amazon and just buy a plastic cover (something like this). Peel off the tape and plop it on.
The wrap I've used is here:
It's just a cheap wrap I found on amazon.
As for the STLs, I don't feel like this case is ready to be shared yet. This is due to the fact that many of the mounting and cutouts only fit the exact parts used here, so it has a few non-standard mounts. Not to mention there are poor design choices as per screws. I should have used inset nuts instead of directly tapping into the plastic.
This case is my personal rig so I feel it should also be one of a kind, however if I design more cases in the future, I will make them free to download for anyone to use. Even though this is the case, I wish to also test the case to ensure that I'm not putting out poor designs full of mistakes such as misaligned mounting.
I wish to create the best models I can for people to use instead of putting out a half-baked model.
My apologies, but I do not think I will make the STLs for this case public.
This exact stuff is ViVid vinyl on Amazon
Its just the universal stuff I got off of Amazon hasn't scratched off yet but I'm sure it could over time.
Just need a razor blade you can do the whole car
