Ahh heck, that's where I screwed up. I used ice cold water. Okay cool, I'll try warm water next time. Thank you! And here is what I bought:
I think the Aluball was causing the extreme nausea. I have a very sensitive stomach, and have nausea enough as it is (not diagnosed yet, so not sure why I have it all the time now).
I made Kava again from the Aluball, and then filtered it through a Kava strainer. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N1B3RKA What remained was a ton of mud. So I had apparently drank that before, which may have been bad. Drinking it after filtering made it taste much cleaner, and it gave me no additional nausea.
Today, I made about 48oz of Kava from 3 tablespoons of Loa Waka. This time I did it the "good" way. Kneaded it by hand for about 5 minutes. Excited to see the results of this. The liquid is much, much more chocolaty-looking than what the Aluball makes. I even strained it twice, just to be sure nothing got through.
I started the same way as you, exactly. After messing about for a few weeks, here is where I've ended up which is miles beyond what I thought possible at first.
Preparation for ONE Cup (8oz.) of Kava: ^(multiply accordingly for more, I usually make 6 cups per batch and put it in a pitcher in the fridge)
Enjoy your buzz.
Edity: As far as drinking it goes, a "shell" is roughly 4-5 ounces. Drink one every 10-20 minutes until you feel sufficiently relaxed.
Edity2: I know that the alluball seems great. I was pretty stuck on it at first. Let me just say that it in no way will provide what you will get out of "rubbing it out". It really isn't that much more effort, and completely 100% worth it in every way. Also, your Kava should look like coffee with cream added (not see-through at all).

I don’t use Kava anymore, but the strainer is huge and works great.

Will that be sufficient?
