I use this with both my Mk3 and Ableton Push, and it works perfectly for my needs. It frees up a ton of desk space.

I've got a couple mounts made by mount-it. I bought them from Amazon. They have a single post that grips the side of the desk and then the laptop tray is on a horizontal arm that extends from that.
This says Wali, but its basically the same stand.

Right now I have two laptops on one post and it holds them securely enough that I could type on them if I needed to.
WALI Laptop Tray Desk Mount for 1 Laptop Notebook up to 17 inch, Fully Adjustable, 22 lbs Capacity with Vented Cooling Platform Stand (M00LP) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BDQQVN2/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_WZ6SNEN76GSJJ4X2ETB5?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Is that what you're looking for? My monitor is wall mounted but I wish I had bought the desk mounted one for the monitor because then I could, say put the desk in the middle of the room or something.
maybe a laptop stand like this?
you could still put your laptop cooling pad on it, and it would free up that space on your mousepad where the laptop currently sits.
just an idea, setup looks great as is
If it's a work laptop I wouldn't open it. Some canned air might help if it's just clogged vents though.
I was thinking the OP meant a oscillating or ceiling fan. I hear a lot of those from people at work on meetings.
I've never seen a clamping under the desk style. I've seen clamping ones that keep the laptop way up off the desk and to the side. Something like these. Might be an option.
These fairly inexpensive laptop tray mounts I found on Amazon.

Ha! I'm glad you noticed that. I spent ages researching a monitor arm I could use it with so I can push it out of the way when I don't need it. I ended up using this:

It's rock solid and cheap as hell. Thinking of getting another one for a modular rack if I ever go that route. I hate not having everything I can in front of my DAW when I'm making music.
Wali laptop stand. It's metal and vented so it helps with cooling also.
The metal sheet is just a WALI Laptop Tray Desk Mount (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BDQQVN2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). Yeah, it supports the keyboard and is a bit of a wrist rest which could be padded, but don't find that necessary. The pole to the left is part of that WALI Desk Mount. Mounted to that pole are two phone clamp/holders, one for a phone (no phone in the photo because I using it, an iPhone 11, to take the photo) and the other for the Stream Deck. That same phone holder/clamp just happens to work to hold the Stream Deck Mk.2 15-button (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09738CV2G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). Phone sits in the holder during shows so I can monitor the livestream to be sure we have not fallen off the air, which has only happened a handful of time in 550+ shows.
It's this one from Amazon:

Enjoy your scientific research ;)
Why, yes. Yes, I have.
It's a laptop tray mounted to the pole the light is attached to.

It looks like the one I have. Looking at the design. I’m pretty sure it’s a generic design sold my many companies.

I use it with an external full-size gaming keyboard and mouse without external monitor.
I used to use this one at work: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F778L16
