Cleaned out over 20 trash bags worth of stuff to donate or throw out in the last three months. Basically went room by room, considered how long since we last used each item and if it works. Any items I was iffy on were placed in a black trash bag to see if I actually needed them and two months later I discovered only a couple items that I use, the rest got donated.
Reduced my kids outfits to 8 outfits/season that they now store in hanging storage. So much easier to see and keep organized! They also have their own laundry bins that allows them to each have an assigned day/week to wash their clothes and towel so that laundry sorting time has dropped significantly. We kept 3-4 nice outfits/season as well that get hung up in their closets.
Fell Short of:
Completing a capsule wardrobe for myself (but at least I finally started it).
Selling the books I no longer need but can earn me some money back.
Plan to Shoot for Before the Year Ends:
Selling a few toys and other household items on Craigslist or FB Marketplace to earn a little money back.
Talking to my spouse about how to start implementing minimalist seasonal decorations this next year. Inspired by this book from our library.
