If you screw up completely, there's always the Dropout saver which doesn't require any specialized tools. Just drill out and pop in.
Thanks, I actually figured this out based on the some answered questions on Amazon where I got the derailleur.
Based on some answers for this, the dropout saver (https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B001AYJD58/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_jHdpFbVJGCR7K), I should be in good shape yeah? Just need to ensure my dropout is <7mm and then get a 15/32 drill bit as someone else mentioned here
