What is Reddit's opinion of Why Parties?: The Origin and Transformation of Political Parties in America (American Politics and Political Economy Series)?

This is abundantly false.

> They paid her, she did favors for and supports them in return.

You have no evidence to claim that she updated her stances specifically because of those donations and not that she was given those donations by people who already agreed with her.

I would also check out Why Parties? by Jonathan Aldrich. It's been a long time since I read it, so I don't feel comfortable summarizing it at the time, but it's supposedly one of the better books out there to explain how political parties came about.
