I'd have to take the bolts out to double-check, but from the product photos they do appear to be decent sized lag bolts. Two on the top, two on the bottom (into the framing), identical.
It's a winegard gable: https://www.amazon.com/Winegard-SW-0012-Gable-Mount-Antenna/dp/B001DFTGUQ
I could see that it gets a good tug, but I've done so when I installed it, and it's pretty stable with a bit of flex at the gable. If it does come down, the $200 antenna is ruined at the least.
Thanks!
Pricing is within budget. The set ups I get have all wires & components included. Tomorrow I'm picking up 6 PoE cell/modem boxes for outside install as well as 3 that are PoE but will need to attach to an interior router.
My "problem install" right now is in Palm Springs. The peak of the roof is very wide, so the standard Gable end-mount brace won't be able to withstand the 60 MPH winds, in my opinion. It's my mom's house, so I don't want to screw it up.
Locally, in Long Beach, I've got a couple of 2-story installs I may need help with.
Given that I should have all accessories needed, just need the install, are. your prices still valid?
Thanks!
Thanks for the tip about the tripod and/or the guy wires. I'd like to put as few holes in my shingles as possible. I'm starting to consider a gable end mount instead, like the one below.

This is a Gable mount:

It's one of the better ways to mount an antenna and doesn't go through the roof. It's on the side of the house at the tip of the roof.
And this is a wall-mount:

Neither of these go through the roof but both support a pole.
That is what I used as I didn't want to put any holes in my recently installed roof.

I have both... I have my 2m/440 antenna on a 10ft mast on a gable mount like this... and I have my weather station on a tripod mount on the roof like this...
A properly installed tripod will not leak... but you have to do it right and check on it regularly. That being said, avoid it if you can, but if you do use a tripod make sure you hit the rafters with the lag bolts and seal the hell out of it with some good asphalt roof sealant.
