I really don’t want to dampen your spirits, but I documented things leading up to our first round of IVF and then found it difficult when it didn’t work to hold on to any of those mementos.
Obviously I really hope that it works for you, but I would think ahead so you have a plan of what to do if this round doesn’t pan out as expected.
Our IVF journey was a long one and everyone knows that’s how we conceived so when Philip is old enough to ask we’ll be upfront with him. I also bought him a book before he was born called Wish. It doesn’t deal specifically with IVF, but tells the story of a very longed for child. It makes me cry every time I read it!
Edit: also it might just be my sense of humour, but I can’t wait to tell him he was conceived round the back of a BMW garage when mummy and daddy weren’t even there!
I would buy you this book if I had your address. We didn’t go through nearly as much pain but it was a bumpy road to get to our first. Buy it for your wife. Have tissues ready

Here it is on amazon - the write up is pretty spot on. I've given it as a gift at a couple baby showers for couples I know that have dealt with infertility and its been universally adored.
It's a sweet board book about how a couple wants to start a family but things don't go as planned and they wait and they wait. And eventually they do have a baby. It's not specific about how they get a baby, so it would apply to adoption, infertility, etc. I cried every time I read it. Amazon link to book

It's now my standard baby shower purchase for couples who I know have struggled to have a baby. It talks about how a couple wishes for a child and makes plans, but the baby never comes. Then after lots of waiting the baby arrives and how they are so happy. It's really lovely.
