It's actually not a projector but a digital transfer machine. Basically a small camera captures one frame at a time to make a video file. You can find it here
I have a machine that digitizes 8mm/super8, I’ve slowly been digitizing old family footage. Happy to let you borrow it if you can get it developed.
It’s one of these: Wolverine 8mm and Super 8 Film Reel Converter Scanner to Convert Film into Digital Videos. Frame by Frame Scanning to Convert 3 inch and 5 inch 8mm Super 8 Film reels into 720P Digital https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KA32HH0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_N6GVP40HAWQMWFD1969E
Maybe you can try checking this out? Looks like you can play them straight from there rather than having to send something out and risk losing it/getting damaged.
This is the one my wife got me for Christmas: https://www.amazon.com/Wolverine-Converter-Scanner-Convert-Scanning/dp/B01KA32HH0/
But it is silent only. If you need sound the scanners are much more expensive.
That's basically what this does: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KA32HH0
It takes a still photo of each frame and assembles it into a movie.
Since you have many tapes, then this would be a cheaper option.

Congratulations! I bought my first Super 8 camera 45 years ago and shot with a Chinon Pacific 12SMR in film school - I wish I still had it.
> Where can I buy Super 8 film cartridges for cheap?
You can get Black & White Tri-X cartridges for $21.95 and color Vision3 cartridges for $34.95 [Referral Links].
Each cartridge will run for about 3 minutes and 40 seconds at 18 fps or 2 minutes and 30 seconds at 24 fps.
> will i have to take the film somewhere to be developed or is there a way of doing it on my own?
Yes, you will have to send your film off to be developed. There are very few local film processing labs left. You can get your film processed for about $20.
At that point you can pay to have it digitized and sent back to you on an SD card - or you can buy a $299 digitizer and do it yourself.
Hope this is helpful and good luck with your new camera!
