Hey guys! After seeing various booknooks here on Reddit I decided to give one a try. I wanted to do something different than a city/alleyway(those ones are AMAZING), and since I haven't really seen any forest/nature related ones I would give that a shot.
Here is a gallery of some photos I took throughout the process.
You can pretty much gather how I went about crafting it using the pictures but one specific thing didn't photograph was building the little huts. I went and scavenged some fallen twigs and cut them up into small pieces. Then I used some chipboard(thin like cardboard) and made a small base so I can glue the twigs around it. The roof part I just stood a twig up on the back of it and put a bit if hot glue and started piling more twigs on top.
Here are some materials I used that I just got off of amazon.
Wood to build the booknook structure
-These are 8"x8" boards that I ended up only needing to make one single cut one on one piece. I cut one board in half to use for the top and bottom. I also used two 4"x1" scrap pieces of wood to raise the bottom platform so I could stash the battery supply for the lighting.
-I printed some forest picture I found on google and used Mod Podge to mount it to the board. You will also be able to use the mod podge for all your various wilderness decorations:
I used broken branches to make the trees and then some self hardening clay to form the root structures at the base.
The lighting part was the most daunting to me. I was browsing various mini railroad websites and was thinking about wiring custom lights here and there but honestly it was too much work and I thought hanging some lights with rope would look cool so I went with some LED string lights. To hide the metallic wire I wrapped it up in some twine. The wire itself is super thing so I ran it up between the side board from the bottom underneath the platform and started it behind one of the trees to hide it.

This was super fun to make and after making this one I have some other ideas and now know what I would do differently! Hope some of this info helps anyone looking to make one and if you have any questions let me know. I am no expert or anything so there are a ton of things I could have done better but you gotta start somewhere.
