XKCD book? https://www.amazon.com/xkcd-0-Randall-Munroe/dp/0615314465
I always find it interesting where an honest question gets cussed at, insulted and downvoted.
> Holy fucking hipster.
For asking a question for people to clarify their position? Honestly, I don't even know what "hipster" is supposed to mean here. You're just use it as a baseless insult.
Hipster, because, I don't get it? I'm asking for the explanation as to why people like it and that makes me a hipster? It sounds more like you're getting defensive about something that you don't know why you should be defending it.
I believe I compliment both the work on XKCD ("I generally like his stuff") and express a desire to learn ("but I am missing the massive import here") why others like it.
I watched it, found the lack of narrative puzzling, enjoyed the layering of misunderstood language (I spent about an hour reading those panels), but then the ending had no payoff -- no conflict resolution with the tribes, the journey was unneeded by the two since their village apparently figures it out at the end anyway.
Should I point to other animation projects that others have done in the past as well all on their own?
I'm trying to understand and you're just being a jerk in return.
> And before you protest that you're not a professional, I submit that neither is Randall.
Well, he has a book published, has his own store and he gets paid to do what he does, so I would call him a professional.
> I think that ElAwesome-o *doesn't understand the pants-shittingly-amount-of-work it takes to do even a small percentage of this, especially considering the small amount of time it took place in.
And you're right. That would be the reason I asked. I don't understand and I said so.
> "I don't get why this is a big deal."
Remember, that's how I started my post?
You've done nothing to change this except attack, attack, attack.
Didn't knew he had them printed
