I use an old late 2000's Pioneer Elite and other than lacking Atmos, bluetooth, 4k HDMI, it's a really solid sounding receiver. I had to use an HDMI splitter like this so I could get all the sound modes (DTS MA, Dolby TrueHD, etc) to the receiver and 4K to the TV for my 4k devices as just using a coax/SPDIF cable isn't enough bandwidth for that.
I've resolved problem with Shield, Samsung UHD and Vizio Soundbar using Audio Extractor - video is running directly to TV and lossless audio to soundbar.
P.S. I am using this model: https://www.amazon.co.uk/63021PRO-60HZ-HDMI-Splitter-YCbCr-1x2-ARC/dp/B07L3L9TF5?ref_=d6k_applink_bb_marketplace
Probably the best solution. I actually can't even find something in the US that does this same function on Amazon. Thinking about trying the Nakamichi, but am wondering if it's going to be the same situation.
