you are correct about the blurple having blue and red leds. after a quick google search, a full spectrum looks to be solely white light. the vendor calls it a full spectrum but i believe they could be mistaken. cheers for educating me!
Awesome, thanks for all the info.
My confusion came looking at this product, one I was thinking of getting, and I can’t find lumens anywhere on the page. Maybe im just overlooking it. EDIT: just saw one of the pictures has “6000K-6500K” in the description. Is that what I’m looking for?
I have all ~20 of my plants in a 2x4x5 grow tent. If I got that light, and suspended it ~3 feet (over my tallest plant) in the grow tent, would that be enough, you think?
Currently sitting on a 100W light for my 2x4x5 grow tent with ~ 20 plants in it, and was thinking of springing for something bigger, better and more future proof.
Would this product be overkill? Underkill? I’d hate to spend $100+ on a light and it not be enough or for it to burn my plants.
Thanks!
I have two of these lights in my house. I bring all my dwarf citrus trees (orange, lemon, lime, as well as avocado and fig) inside over the winter. I have the lights on a timer. The trees like it fine.
I have two of these. Have them on a timer; they work great (though the cooling fans are a bit loud). I grow oranges, limes, lemons, avocados, figs and banana, and they all seem to love them.
I don't know if tomatoes need a flowering and fruiting spectrum, but I imagine so. Some plants need a change in lumens partway through to encourage new stages, just like the sun might change in August when they start to fruit outdoors.
I can't remember what my light was, but something like this https://www.amazon.com/Yehsence-Triple-Chips-Professional-Greenhouse-Hydroponic/dp/B07FN3X6H7/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=grow+light&qid=1549999601&s=gateway&sr=8-9
I use similar lights in a bar over my planted fish tank.
Our seedlings for vegetables just get fluorescent tube lights for the start of their life, and it works for the first couple of months, but if you compare them to ones grown in a greenhouse with actual sunlight, the leaves aren't as big on ours, the stems are skinnier and longer. Real light is a tough thing to imitate well!
These are the ones I use. They’re actually 1500W. $140/ea.
running 2 of these in a 5x5 with VEG and BLOOM on for max par. (Light): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FN3X6H7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I just transplanted them 4 days ago all the roots wear eggshell white, no mush or rotting didn't have an odor either. Wish i took pictures.
Those are 5.5 gallon plastic pots could i just drill holes into the sides of it? Small ones of course!
Hey everyone, I have a few questions that don’t necessarily have much to do with each other but I don’t want to make a bunch of different posts. Any help would be appreciated.
Current Grow: (this is my 2nd grow, first grow was bagseed and produced a male.) - Auto Lemon Haze Feminized. - Coco Loco with 30% perlite mix - Blurple amazon light(working on this mistake) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FN3X6H7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - Tent temps: 73 to 80 degrees - Tent humidity: 45% to 55% - Light is 19 inches from canopy - Grow big nutrients
Question 1: Is it bad to top autos, I read it stunts their growth? I understand cutting anything can stunt growth, but it was explained as extreme stunting and an unwanted result from an auto.
Question 2: Do autos normally start showing hairs this early? (Very top has hairs) It is only 2/3 weeks old and my plant looks like this. Also, can anyone help identify what deficiencies this plant is showing? The only nutrients it has received is grow big, I tapered up to a full serving over two/3 weeks. Is this nutrient burn? Possibly Ph lockout?
Question 3 : Long story short, I ended up with a 6 inch AC infinity fan, 6” to 4” reducers, 4 inch duct lines, and a 4 inch carbon filter thats about a foot long. This is used as my exhaust set up and my intake is a direct vent from the house HVAC. When the AC Infinity is on, it makes PLENTY of negative pressure within my tent. But it must be running at a level of 7 or higher to make a noticeable difference. Would anyone advise against this setup due to the reducers? Am I causing too much restriction with the reducers and the carbon filter?
Question 4: After some research and reading I have narrowed my next light purchase down to these two(I think). I have a 4x4 growing space that is 6 feet tall and I will be purchasing two sets no matter which one I go with. Are either of these two options the lights I should be looking at purchasing? One is considerably more expensive than the other, is the benefit and value there with the more expensive light or is the verdict still out on the V3, red lights, UR and IR? Please link any lights that would be a better fit if the two I have linked are not adequate or not priced effectively. Also, about how much should shipping run me?

Question 5: Say I mix 3 gallons of a nutrient/water mix. I plan to use a gallon each week for the next three weeks. Is it okay to let a nutrient/water mix sit for weeks? Do the nutrients evaporate or lose solubility? I know the PH of the water could fall, is there anything I am missing that may happen when letting a nutrient/water mix sit for too long?
Question 6: Runoff is coming out at 5.6 and I am watering at 6.5 ph. It was my first time watering this buckets medium of coco and 30 percent perlite. Could the low runoff be from the coco? I read if your runoff is coming out low, you should water with higher ph water. I feel I would need to go much higher than the plants prefer and that worries me. Any guidance is appreciated on this?
Question 7: Can you mix mykos throughout your entire coco/perlite medium or does that give no benefit?
Question 8: With autos, can I run this light 24 hours a day on both bloom and veg? Or will the bloom switch cause it to start flowering early? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FN3X6H7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Apologies for the long post, please advise if I can make any improvements on future posts. TIA!
