YES, if the bar you are going to be gripping without trainers is to be smaller. I have one day in the gym where I attach thick bar grips to everything I do. Bench, curls, wrist curls, tri extensions, rope push downs, pull-ups,lat pull down, shrugs, shoulder press.... These little things have helped my grip immensely. It's like a grip day with everything everything else benefiting. If they don't work well for you, at least you worked other parts simultaneously. Hope that helps.
