As an aside I'd suggest reading "You Can't Say You Can't Play", it's a short and interesting read

I've often wondered how society would be different and more cooperative if we brought all schools kids up with the rule(s) trialled in the book
I just want to say thank you for your show. One episode in particular (Episode 27: The Cruelty of Children) touched me in a way I had ignored for a long time. I was on a bus in Chicago and listening to you interviewing Vivian Paley, the author of You Can't Say You Can't Play. While you recounted passage of the book, one in particular the part where Lisa says, "There's some people I don't like." and Angelo responds with, "...You don't like me." I cried on that bus. Not a single John Wayne tear but full tears with puffy eyes and embarrassment for not acknowledging how much being picked on affected me. Thank you for opening that door and thank you for publishing that story.
