This is the ideal cage. Make sure you’re not feeding them only seeds, as it can lead to fatty liver disease. Vegetables need to be very common in their diet to be happy along with the occasional fruit. Teflon pans heated up really hot can emit toxic fumes which can kill birds, along with febreze, clorox, and candles that are too close to the cage or in the same room. Make sure he has many toys and get natural wood perches instead of dowel, dowel perches aren’t healthy for their feet. Harrisons Pellets is really good. Also, budgies like music. Do plenty of research because budgies are very complicated pets to own but very worth it.
Is he tame? And do you have a good sized cage for him? This cage is ideal along with a diet of pellets, vegetables, and the occasional fruit along with natural wood perches and plenty of toys is ideal for a budgie, that is if you intend on keeping him.
I would recommend a bigger cage. They have one on Amazon for pretty cheep.
get some natural wood perches (or make some) and get more toys he can shred and destroy.
also, this is a really good bird cage: bird cage
it's a great cage for a really good price.
Nope, not at all. Budgies need to be able to fly. Also those dowel perches are terrible for their feet, they need natural wood. This cage is really good, just remove the dowel perches and replace with natural wood
im getting a cockatiel soon and im wondering if this cage would be big enough. thank you
I have this one. Overall it is good. If I could go back I probably would get the one linked instead. Right at the corners the bar spacing is a little wide. And one more my birds would stick his bead through. None of the others did. But it’s possible.

hey! ik you didnt recommend this cage but i saw it on elleandthebirds' recommended cages and i wanted to ask if this cage is good? it seems to have better reviews and is cheaper but still seems spacious (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075R7NGGK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A10PRH2DFOVNA8&psc=1$
I have this one for my pair and really like it. Plenty of room, easy to move around, easy to clean.
I cant fit 10 either even though I have quite big cages for my birds, but 8 is just fine! You can always think about getting a bigger cage for your bird as well, this is one I have that I like https://www.amazon.com/-/es/pájaros-construcción-pulgadas-mascotas-periquito/dp/B075R7NGGK/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=zeny+bird+cage&qid=1624727013&sprefix=ZENY+bitd+cage&sr=8-3 (sorry its in Spanish 😅)
I have this cage and I like it a lot. If you can go even bigger, I’d recommend it. I’m in a second story apartment with sloped ceilings and not a ton of space so this works for the time being.
I don't want to be that guy, but your cage is really small, especially if your budgie is going to be inside for most of the time. I recommend a flight cage. Those last a long time and give your budgie enough space to fly. This is a really good cage and it's under a hundred US dollars!
That said, I like that you have a natural wood perch! I would definitely add several more so she has options. I would add a lot more natural toys (those made from wood, paper, etc, instead of plastic) for her to chew and forage. You can buy natural perches and toys from Amazon or at your local pet store. Planet Pleasures is a really good brand for birds.
I would remove the "water bottle" as that can collect bacteria easily. Instead, I would use stainless steel bowls for both food and water. They are safer for your bird in the long run.
Hope this helped! :)
i recommend this cage: cage link
it's a great size for a really good price if your parents let you get it.
this is my ideal cage, only $89. This and the budgie(parakeets and budgies are essentially the same, idk if there is a difference) subreddit, r/budgies, are great resources for cage, food, and toy recommendations, a quick search on here should do the trick, or you can make a post!
I’d say that cage is too small. This cage is really good
This cage is really good
This cage is great.
I would recommend this cage
You should always have a flight cage. That cage is not big enough for one budgie let alone 2 and only has one toy. This cage is ideal. And I would recommend using this amazon list for budgie toys and etc
Tall cages are bad too because budgies fly horizontal. The thing you should always ask yourself while looking at a budgie cage is “can my budgie extend his or her wings fully and fly a good distance?” And also make sure you feed your budgie pellets as an alternative to seeds and give them leafy greens regularly
Thank you for the awesome comment!!
In your opinion, would this cage be good? I know it’s taller than it is wider but I am having trouble finding one like that!
Keep in mind, cardinals are bigger than regular budgies, they have bigger skulls.
It looks like you have the a cage with 0.6" bar spacing which can actually fit a budgie head. It's not a terrible cage, and many budgie owners have used cages with 0.6" or 5/8ths" bar spacing without issue but there is still a chance that a budgie will try to stick it's head through. I'll copy & paste what I wrote in another post:
>It's really a "know your bird" situation. Most budgies don't seem all that interested in squeezing their heads through the bars but you never know when you'll get that one odd ball.
I say it's better to let them experience the bigger cage so they can fly freely. If you do get one that oddball that has to stick his head out, you can modify the cage by fastening acrylic panels on the outer sides or blocking access with seagrass mats.
There are safer alternatives like:

All of which have the recommended 1/2" spacing though quality may vary.
I, personally, stick to the 1/2" spacing because I know one of my birds will stick his head through. The little goober is always looking for ways to escape the few times I have to lock him up outside of bedtime. I had to use binder clips on the lifting gates of his old cage because he kept lifting them up and trying to squeeze through. My other budgie has no interest in sticking his head anywhere and would probably be fine in a cage with bigger spacing.
A lot of cages that come with stands don't actually have to be used with them. It's all about how the cage itself is constructed. This cage is actually our gcc's sleeper cage. We use the stand, but the cage is constructed well enough that it could sit on a table. It's too small to be anything but a sleeper cage, but there are plenty of similar ones. This one's a little bigger but certainly not preferable. Good luck!

Wrought iron is safe, but I don't think it's big enough for a cockatiel. There seems to be no pictures with actual birds inside it, but based on the size of the food bowls I doubt it. Along with that, a curved ceiling makes limited space up high, where birds naturally like to be at. I would instead try to get something like this or this.

That cage seems amazing. I have this one as long it is pretty big and gives your budgie a place to fly, it should be good.
