I ended up moving into a bigger space, but when I was going to be woodworking in my apartment, my plan was to buy this . I don't use power tools so I don't deal with a lot of dust. I ended up moving where it isn't necessary. Not experienced though! Still working on finishing my first bench after probably about 100 hours of work lol.
you could try something like this. its similar to a shower curtain rod with spring loaded tension but designed to press up against the floor and ceiling. i've used them to section off rooms while working in the house to minimize dust. I'm not sure how they would hold up long term outdoors but it might be an option.

As others have pointed out, you could build a frame with wood that is free standing, or you could try it with PVC pipes, which pop together fairly easily and could be taken apart if needed. zip tying netting to PVC should be very easy to set up and take down.
Yeah I’m a GC who does mostly remodels and additions. Some new construction too.
Yes we have a 12’ dump trailer that goes with me quite a bit. With all the tools in the truck I can still legally tow 9,000 lbs. The max my trailer can weigh is 10,000 lbs so it’ll be ok.
Those are Zip Walls, they help create a plastic wall separating your work area from the rest of the house. They don’t damage the ceiling, and they don’t fall down if the wind is blowing into the house. As you can tell, we use them a lot. https://www.amazon.com/ZipWall-ZipPole-Spring-Loaded-Barriers-ZP4/dp/B002RL8ODK
Zip walls (might be able rent) could also help, if you put the walls fairly close around the humidifier, and the hole you should get a decent effect. Still leave at least 2’ around the thing to cut down on the fire risk.
If there's going to be construction going on IN your server room, I'd recommend using zipwalls to protect your gear and HVAC from dust/debris. Used these during our last construction project, worked well
Comes with a carry bag https://www.amazon.com/ZipWall-ZipPole-Spring-Loaded-Barriers-ZP4/dp/B002RL8ODK

Been looking into it more, I think this is the right solution. Very similar to what /u/humanoidtyphoonberg mentioned, but looks like there is a good deal at Amazon right now: https://www.amazon.com/ZipWall-ZipPole-Spring-Loaded-Barriers-ZP4/dp/B002RL8ODK#. Thanks for the advice!
