> I can't really think of a movie since The Godfather that has reached the same widespread praise and acceptance, can you?
I really can't think of another either... but I'll put some thought into it...
> I assume Part II is next on your radar?
Indeed! Watching it right now. Just got this in the mail.
They needed $2million, which they got in like 12 hours or something, and ended up with a total of $5,702,153. I never watched the show or movie (though I plan on it eventually), but that is impressive.
You can see all of the information here, if you wanted to read about it.
I agree very much with this review. Having watched both versions of the film (and I made sure to re-watch the original before watching the new version), I can definitely say that I much preferred the updated version. I thought that Sissy Spacek (the original Carrie) was a bit under-par on her character. Everything she did was just awkward. So Chloe and Moore really did their parts in making the movie better.
Also, the use of cell phones was a smart idea. It made the movie relevant to today's society. And it was a catch-22 for them. Since they did it, everyone hates them for it. But, had they not done it, everyone would have said it's lazy not to re-write.
And this motion poster was playing for a few weeks at my theater, and I simply loved it. I hate that meme, but that poster was pretty unique.
Hello, I'm a bot! The movie you linked is called Taxi Driver, here are some Trailers
I got it off Amazon here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Memories-Murder-Barking-Never-Blu-ray/dp/B08L63H9RV/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=memories+of+murder&qid=1609504687&sr=8-2
I think it's just recently released in the West.
I went through this phase in the early 2000s where i was snatching up all of the Anchor Bay LE tins. They mostly put out horror ones, so it was low risk, but one day there was this pink pill case in a pink box for a film named Candy.

Being the completionist I am I naturally took it home. I remember thinking many of the things you did back then as well. How is this movie not a) more popular or b) not more discussed as a bad time in Hollywood.
Anyways, nice write-up.
