To add to that I use a VESA quick release on them so I can snap them onto or off of adjustable monitor arms.
For anyone interested in this arm, here's the Amazon link. The base spins nearly 360º, it raises and lowers perfectly (even though the DN is lighter than 4.4lbs), and it tilts/rotates. Easy to hand tighten to a table, or move to a new location. Seriously a game changer. I'm not endorsing this product, but I really like it, and thought i'd share. I'm contemplating a dual vesa mount for my desktop monitor and push 2. Seriously, all gear should be compatible with a vesa mount.
Hey everyone, first Android release includes files and folders export, normalization and preview of single files. Sample trim & recorder are planned for October. If you would prefer other 2 features as top priorities please let me know 📷

Right now the minimum version of Android OS is 10 since it introduced C++/C APIs that I use for transfer, I will create a version for lower OSs later if I realize most of the people on Android are below 10
What about something like this since it has VESA mounts on the back?
I use a VESA quick release on them so I can snap them onto or off of adjustable monitor arms.
Thank you so much for your very informative and interesting answer, It turns out the problem was when I bought my MS used, the previous owner didn't give me their MIDI to TRS adapter that it originally came with, so I bought one off amazon that was cheap and had decent rating. Turns out I should have read the reviews as it isn't actually a MIDI to TRS cable. I ordered a new one (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074XGJRQK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and hopefully it works. I'm sure I'll end up coming back and reference your reply once it arrives to try out your suggestions too! Thanks again!
I love the h1n! I was debating getting the h6 but I had to keep telling myself I dont actually need that much I/O. I primarily bought the h1n to resample any samples/sounds that I want processed by pedals, but its obviously great for field recordings as well.
I just bought a microsd to usb adapter and I think you can attach it near the bottom of the h1n. Very convenient for transporting samples over to the daw without needing overbridge.
There are a ton of folks running these things off of portable battery banks and a cable like this:

This one works like a charm for the digitakt, I only plugged in my syntakt, but seems to work aswell, but TBH I sitll haven't given it prolonged use, hope it helps :D
Try some contact cleaner, specifically Deoxit D5, on your scratchy knob. I use this on any kind of pot from guitar volume knobs, amp knobs, mixer sliders, ext. This stuff is safe and specifically designed for audio electronics. I wouldn't recommend using it on encoders (digital knobs), but those won't make scratchy sounds anyway.
A single can of this stuff will last a long time as it takes very little to clean a pot. You can get killer deals on old gear by haggling down the price because the 'knobs are scratchy and need to be replaced'. Take 15 min to spray the knobs and wiggle them back and forth and it's as good as new.

I’m curious why you chose this cable/battery combo over something like this: https://www.amazon.com/TalentCell-Rechargeable-3000mAh-Lithium-External/dp/B01M7Z9Z1N/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=12v+power+bank&qid=1668632849&sprefix=12v+pow%2Caps%2C63&sr=8-6
Does USB-C PD offer any advantages over using the 12V out on this battery?
It's an Mki not mkII with plus drive, sorry. I'm not the seller, but this may interest you.

its plenty Strong for me. and can lay or vertical if you want.
If you need something for bigger heavier stuff I live by these.

I Bang on my MPC Live 2 using this. It would probably be good for a octatrack etc.
I have like like 4 of them floating around my studio. One holding my 12..track Mixer. and One holding my Mixstream Pro when I'm scratching.
It's worth a shot! This is the one I originally bought that didn't work for me: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LG2X98F?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
And here's the explanation from the email about why my lights would flicker on then shut off: "Your power bank is not capable of 12V PD unfortunately. It switches to the next lower voltage it is capable of, that is 9V. That’s why the lights turn on for a short moment." Hopefully your Anker one can do 12v PD!

I use this and it rocks
This other IKEA stand also fits my Digitakt pretty well. About 1/2” to spare on either side. I don’t think they sell these in the store anymore, but you can find them on Amazon for $12-13.
There’s also the Brada, which fits my TR8-S well. It might even fit 2 Digis together.

Ripcord seems to have issues for at least some people over on Elektronauts that might be worth reading about.

Works great. I can head out on the deck or travel and play for hours and hours.
Oh interesting, yeah I have all my usb powered devices including my Keystep and little sub mixer wall powered as opposed to via my MacBook since I’ve sometimes heard buzzing that way.
I think this is the one from Amazon. I’ve also used this one too
Introducing Syntakt:GO Mobile Edition.
Iv always wanted to strap a battery to one of these boxes, but it wasn't until I got the Syntakt that I felt like I had something that would be super fun totally self contained. Took some inspiration from guitar pedal boards and just Velcro strapped the battery to the back to keep it all self contained.
While I can dream of playing in the park or some beautiful wood side, the reality for the moment is this is making a killer couch machine.
Unexpected side benefit - using the 3D waves stand actually puts the Syntakt in the perfect position for me to use both my thumbs most of the time, making things super fast.
Note: the Syntakt power draw is slightly higher then the DN / DT, so while a ripcord worked, it got super hot and eventually spazzed out. This is the USB C cable / battery that worked for me (thank you stranger on the Elektron forums who originally recommended this combo)

Thanks , the mixer I bought off Amazon for $30 . there’s was no brand or anything but I do know it’s battery powered
You can send 5 volts (standard USB port) to either the rear or side DC input ports. So just pick whichever you prefer to use, then by the right size cable for it. I prefer to use the side port, as it is more sturdy and seems less in the way. A right angle cable is nice for this.
The ripcords fit nicely but are more expensive and the cable length is too long. So just buying a generic cable with the right DC barrel size off Amazon is fine too. My electric toothbrush came with a cable that happens to fit, so I've been using that one a lot!
Any battery you want will do. This is one of my favorites for small portable setup:

I bought this because it was cheap.

works fine but gets a little warm with extended usage, but I usually only go on hour or 2 at the most.
Hey man, did you just use a Type B to Type C USB cable (something like this) to record audio in your smartphone? I'm intrigued by the possibility, if you can share your setup it would be awesome
I've got an OT+DN and Hydrasynth combo and these two together have worked for me in a two tier. Laptop stands+ desktop riser
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01JIWQPMW
I use one of these, it will comfortably power a DT, DN and Typhon for 4+ hours. They seem to have nearly doubled in price now though.
Assuming your audio interface is has two inputs for stereo you could use any length of this cable
Also, since the Cycles supports balanced low-impedance cables [this would work too] but wouldn’t be totally necessary in your case (https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/CSS202--hosa-css202-2-meter?mrkgadid=3274408717&mrkgcl=28&mrkgen=gpla&mrkgbflag=0&mrkgcat=accessories&acctid=21700000001645388&dskeywordid=92700046938453187&lid=92700046938453187&...)
Alternatively, you could use 2 separate cables of each of those types, it just nearer with a double ended cable.
I bought 4 of these and they are so freaking versatile. I use it for my laptop and all my small synths or pedals. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08JQC7FQ1/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_KAGVJHQKEH209N3407JJ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

These are amazing for elektron boxes. Got one for the octa, one for the takt and another for a peak. Rock solid.
As others mentioned a mixer is not absolutely necessary, since the DT has inputs. Sometimes I use one of these just for jamming when I have more machines than inputs, and it's actually decent for the price:

Even the overdrive is ok!
Could get a shallow 12u rack and place the two Elektron units in it with their optional rack ears. ($50 each) Not sure how you mount the FF MX12 in the last 4 though...

I use these stands side by side. So sturdy yet easily adjustable. DIgitakt on the left. Keystep I front of them. Great layout for me (although a massive pain to get synced up. But now I’ve got it)
https://www.amazon.com/Rockboard-FlaX-Plug-Cable-Black/dp/B07KDT6S3N got these recently for my elektron setup. The little cable trainer can be removed from the plug and slid out of the way to no ill effect, so you can make them even lower profile
I don’t know if it is any good, haven’t pulled the trigger, but have this one on my list:
Roland Mobile Cube Battery-Powered Stereo Amplifier https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001CQ8VJS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_84WAFWTZ9W421ZCE05EV?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Yeah, sounds like a roundabout way of getting there, at least voltage-wise. I have a standard USB brick that outputs the usual 5V DC. I picked up one of these cables that converts to 12V DC ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07J6NYVJV/ ), but I'm nervous to try it... I'm sure it's fine, but I would hate to fry my machines
I recently acquired a usb cable that works perfectly on the digitakt and digitone.
I’m able to power the digitakt and the digitone, both from a regular usb power bank (anker 20k mAh)
the only issue is to wait 2s after turning one machine before starting the other one.
I guess it could work with a simple wall plug too

This one will run a Digitakt, Digitone and Dreambox Typhon for several hours on a full charge. Unfortunately it seems to have gone up a lot in price, but they are occasionally on sale:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01JIWQPMW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Edit: 'Dreambox' was a typo and should be 'Dreadbox', but that thing is so good I'm leaving it.
No because this is designed to output to a speaker. You need something that lets you adjust the volume of the output that goes to your headphones. You need something like this:
I'm pretty sure this is the one i have. It doesn't seem to mention dtt or mtt or anything. Guess i could try a new one.
TP-Link Powered USB Hub 3.0 with 7 USB 3.0 Data Ports and 2 Smart Charging USB Ports. Compatible with Windows, Mac, Chrome & Linux OS, with Power On/Off Button, 12V/4A Power Adapter(UH720) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SCX6I8A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_1PHaGbSZN12GZ
mixer, basically. you can get a maker hart loop since its cheap and see how that works out. even if you end up getting a better/proper mixer, at least this one will always be something you can use when traveling etc.
basically you need something you can stick your devices outputs to. then you plug a headphone into whatever that mixer/mixer-type device is. easiest way to do it, and also if you get a decent mixer with enough inputs you can keep adding to it.
you'll need a minimum of two midi cables however to be able to connect all three devices together, since you'll be sending midi out (probably from the digitakt?) in order to maintain clock/tempo. maybe a converter/jack for the op-1 - don't know how that does midi, sorry.
That barrel is too big for the model samples\cycles, you need a 3.5x1.35 barrel.
I use this for my cycles, works like a charm:
I think he is using this or something similar: https://www.amazon.com/DROK-Voltage-Converter-Transformer-Regulator/dp/B074R7FDCR/
It’s made by a company called Ultimate Support and you can even stack them (using a 3rd connector piece) to form a 2-tier setup. To fit both of these boys on there, I just neglected to install the center divider. Highly recommend, especially for $60 US.
Thank you , this is my bedroom as well haha.
They are a cheaper alternative to the Phillips hue bulbs, here is the link below.
tl;dr Yeah you need L/R cables.
The inputs of your 18i8 use balanced connections. These work by sending the same audio in two channels, but one is inverted, then re-inverted at the receiver. Any noise picked up along the way will be cancelled out when the signals are re-inverted.
Your 8i8 is receiving your L/R signals, inverting your right channel and subtracting it from the left. So what you're left with is the difference between the stereo channels, which will be really quiet and sounds like ass.
You want this cable, and you want to connect it from the Main Out L-R on your Model:Cycles to a pair of Line Inputs on the rear of your 18i8.
While you're waiting for the Amazon delivery, connect the cable you already have from the Main Out L to the front of your 18i8. You'll still be able to hear what you're doing, but only in mono, and only the stuff panned centre-left on the Cycles.
https://www.amazon.com/RiteAV-Stereo-Female-Adapter-Y-Cable/dp/B0018MI5F6
This but longer with a 1/4 adapter would work right? There’s plenty of these on amazon or eBay, female rca to 1/8 inch jack.
Great questions, happy to answer.
Yes the case has a lid. It's this case:
Dust covers available at perfect circuit, Sweetwater, or straight from Elektron.
They are secured using 3 strips each of lock tite Scotch Velcro - the super strong stuff. The lid the. Has some foam attached which keeps everything tight while closed.
The wiring photos in the journal are the best I had.
All of the wires are tucked under the lift of the 2nd row of units. There is a back plate with three holes I mounted to pull the wires through when necessary.
It is completely wired and self contained, designed to be played directly.
Routing is:
Audio
Digitakt --> Digitone --> OT --> AR --> A4
Midi
A4 --> Digitone --> Digitakt --> OT --> AR
Of course! I use these guys
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H8F5HYJ/ref=emc_b_5_mob_t
Unfortunately the devices are not equal in power hungriness.
The analog Rythm is the bottleneck at about 4.5 hours
I actually haven't ran out of juice yet on the other stuff, and I've only tested it one time, so we'll see how it goes a year from now when they've been pushed a bit harder.
I just created the rig a week ago so I haven't had a ton of practice with this setup. Would love to see more portable rigs out there!
