I've had a severely arthritic back for decades, my parents neglected to take care of it after a car accident I was a passenger in with my mother driving when I was eight.

The biggest change in my posture was made when I bought an inexpensive $25 monitor stand that raised the screen off of my desk by nearly a foot. With proper posture, my eye line is now nearly even with the top of the screen rather than below my chin. I now do not subconsciously slouch in my chair.
