If you have a wide area of balding - these are a great size b/c it won't take you forever to use. They are nice and firm too. Bristles don't pull too quickly either: https://www.amazon.com/Brushes-Watercolor-Synthetic-Paintbrush-Painting/dp/B097332DK9/ref=sr\_1\_7?crid=2BER9SDHLTAOM&keywords=acrylic%2Bpaint%2Bbrush%2Bwide&qid=1671736992&sprefix=acrylic%2Bpaint%2Bbrush%2Bwid%2Caps%2C109&sr=8-7&a...
Apply it to hair, leave overnight, and then just slightly rinse it in the morning
Searched my post history and found what I posted in a similar thread.

- 91 Isopropyl Alcohol
Fine tooth comb
Cotton Balls
Cotton Swabs
TRIFOLD MIRROR (without this you're gonna have a hard time shaving parts of your head, slow and steady wins the race lol)
If you don't already a means to shave accurately, small clippers and perhaps a foil shaver.
A dermal mud mask like: https://www.amazon.com/Dermal-Mask-Scalps-Hair-Replacement/dp/B01LY89UAD (optional, I choose this instead of cleaning my scalp with alcohol)
A scalp protector if you feel you want one I use the Active on from MHE.
If you're using glue you're going to need some glue brushes, tiny accurate ones are best for hairline, I'm sure someone has a link they can drop.
Washable Water based Marker for hairline (makes hairline lining up way easier until you get a feel for it)
Shampoo and Conditioner safe for color treated hair. Generally can just buy some from the salon you're getting fitted at.
Hair Dryer.
WET Brush
Hair Band.
Leave-In Conditioner (this is another one you can get from the Salon more than likely)
That's most of what I can think of off the top of my head! You might need a solvent seeing as how it's glue, I have C-22 and I fucking hate it. I don't even use it. I have heard Ultra Safe is much better. I just soak my unit in hot water for like 15 minutes and then peel everything off with some cotton balls. Then clean the unit with some alcohol and shampoo.
This.
OP get a sleeping cap. You can get them on Amazon, it doesn't matter which one, but it will hold your hair in place. Added bonus, no bed head.
It's a bit annoying having to wear a cap at night, but the alternative is having your hair shift. Here's the one I have:
Something else, you might have to reattach every 2-weeks. It depends on a lot of factors; lifestyle, activity, your skin, adhesive, etc.
I can make tape last 3-weeks, but even at 2-week it's a bit messy, so for me, weekly was best.
I haven't tried this specific brand or for this purpose but when one of my older systems came I used the following product to temporarily darken my system and was impressed by the result. I will have to give this a try now though as my temples are a little thin. here is the product in case you are interested:
> silky conditioner
"SILKY & SMOOTH SHAMPOO FOR FRIZZY HAIR" from tresemme
and this conditionner ? https://www.amazon.com/LOreal-Paris-Conditioner-Color-Treated-Packaging/dp/B08ND3KGWQ
You recommend those product to have a nicer short curl ?
My hair start to curl once they are 1.5/2 cm
How do you find the hair system placement on the forehead and the temple area ?
It's a very steep learning curve if you want an exposed hairline with a french lace. It needs some fine trimming with some ultra sharp scissors like these. Get a fine comb and brush the fringe upwards while pushing back down with the comb at the very front as if you were trying to rebond your fringe when you glue it. This leaves the base of the hairline exposed where you can cut any glue or lace that's coming past the hairline. It's never going to be like a .03 poly hairline, but it can still be more than passable.
I was trying to find the video where Jake Kent talks about this.
I can't find it though so...
Basically, with the French lace hairline, you want to cut the excess lace as CLOSE as possible to the actual hairline hairs.
Use this type of scissor:
Don't even attempt it without one of these. And even then, you want to take your time. Start with the highest mm attachments you have and switch out till it actually starts grazing your hair.
Hi, I actually ordered this one off Amazon - don’t judge lol. I cut the base myself to the size I was wanting. And I do the same thing - I take it off before I go to bed and just put it back on in the morning or if I don’t feel like putting on a system, I just rock the shaved head for the day.
I don't see why not but you'd have to be extremely careful not to get it on your base or else it might stain. Alternatively you could try this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wax%EF%BC%8COne-time-Temporary-Wax%EF%BC%8CNatural-party-Cosplay-Masquerade/dp/B07HQWMZZW/ref=asc_df_B07HQWMZZW/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=310776493634&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=127341132654559...
I saw it advertised a while ago and people said it's good but haven't yet tried it myself.
My stylist uses a thinning razor and takes a ton of hair off the unit to match my natural density. I still get 3-4 months out of a unit. The tool she uses kind of looks like this:
I have a tablet holder that I can position it anyway I like. I use it to attach to the door then put my hand mirror in it so I can see the back of my head. Makes it easy to see back of head while in bathroom.

I use one of these to shave my head for re-installs:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B099PHFGQF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Helps a lot but keep in mind I have a stylist that installs a fresh system for me every 3-4 months and she shaves it to begin with. What I mean is it's MUCH easier to shave it yourself if a professional has done it first so you can follow the shave lines they originally did. But if you're determined to try it yourself, lots of mirrors in lots of directions will only help you like something like this product.
They sell a brush of sorts that allegedly will help the fibers look like a hairline:
https://www.amazon.com/TOPPIK-OPTE4-Hairline-Optimizer/dp/B005VQZ09O
I had ZERO luck with it, but it's 5 bucks you might give it a shot. Fibers IMO aren't meant for the hairline they need to be surrounded by real hair to work.
If silk/satin pillow cases don't work for you, try a sleeping cap. I use a beanie sleeping cap and I can toss and turn all I want, without worrying about my hair system.
Here's the one I used:
You should try a leave in conditioner with some UV protection it will help avoid the fading to begin with. As to color shampoo / conditioner I like the color guard line from these guys:
Not cheap but the bottle are gigantic and last many months.
I'm kind of embarrassed to admit I bought it off Amazon. It was kind of a spur of the moment choice - and I knew they had easy returns if I didn't like it.

Thanks! My best friend, who's also an incredibly talented barber, cuts all my systems. He'd never cut one before he met me.
I'm kind of embarrassed to admit it, but I got the system off Amazon. I wasn't wanting to spend a ton of money until I had an idea whether I was going to stick with the shaved head or wearing systems. It turned out to be a great choice.

Do you use sweat protector before adding tape? You may have a really oily forehead. I use https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BN9LSQD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for my hairline and it holds pretty well.
If it mentions UV on it then yea. This is what I have for when I do all day outing outside.

No, a brush with "ball" on the top like this se the link: brush with ball on the top
https://www.amazon.com/Shea-Moisture-Enhancing-Strengthen-Conditioner/dp/B077GY6M33
is this what you use for your leave-in? cause i see two products, a conditioner without the smoothie, or the smoothie without the conditioner. do you mix these two products together or only use one of them?
I have this stuff (link above) for nights out. I never use styling products day to day, just some leave in conditioner and hair oils is enough for me (occasionally i use this salt spray for a light hold)
With the blasting spray your hair is pretty bullet proof lol. Although be very gentle when you wash it out, so you don't cause damage. I just gently wash my hair a couple of times, getting a bit more out each time. I don't try to comb it out before hand.
However, as I said I only use this on a drunken night out so do tend to use quite a bit just to make sure it all stays in place, but if you only used a little to hold up your daily wear im sure it'll not be as bad.
She's right in that brown hair isn't great in that it is a hairs breath away from full on ginge lol. So dying brown blonde can red shift it, but you know in for a penny and all that so i'd grab some purple shampoo.
If you look at the pics on the amazon page you will see a brassy orangey blonde that is fixed by the shampoo. Note, i've only ever used it on blonde hair so not sure if it will help or hinder but just bear it in mind if things go wrong lol

What about some sun in spray? You know those sprays where you spray it and then blow dry your hair.
There's also this, not quite sure what it would do to brown hair but could be worth a try
I use this which you might find cheaper/better. There’s probably other or similar brands available.
These are iso alcohol but larger sheets that I find easier to wipe with:
Medipal Alcohol Wipes (200 wipes) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00MNAER22?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Alcohol Pads - I use these to remove excess glue from my hairline after re-attaching. Or when I just need to quickly remove glue/tape/gunk anywhere on the front of the hair piece. Nice to have some of these when you're on the go and dont have a bottle of alcohol nearby.
I like this one:
Living Proof 1242 No Frizz... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002IJJ7DM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It is expensive for the amount, but you really don’t need to use much at all. One bottle lasts me 4-6 months. Hair feels really good when I use it 💁🏼♂️😅
There are quite a few blades that cut very short and are designed for more intimate areas on the body. There's the one below and if you just type 'philips one blade' into amazon you'll see lots of alternative brands.
These blades only cut the hair and don't dig deep into the follicle, like most manual/electric face razors do, so are very gentle on the skin.
You do not want to be waxing your scalp, it'll likely rip right off lol, the skin is very thin up there. I know it's a pain but trust me just get a blade like the one above and you'll whizz over the hair quickly and easily and with no damage to your scalp.
Think the hair unit itches or gets annoying now? if you use extreme hair removal methods then it unlikely you'll be able to wear a hair unit at all due to the pain and discomfort.
Do try a One Blade, or something like it, and hopefully you'll be fine! :)
Ah I have that!
I’ve given it a try, it’s a different take on the whole bond thing.
The idea behind it is more that you’d apply in the morning, and then in the evening (not sure it’ll last overnight but you could try) you shower, the gel dissolves and you apply a fresh bond in the morning.
That way you always look fresh and don’t have any cleanup.
There’s also one in a black tube that’s made specifically for lace fronts:
Schwarzkopf got2b Glued Ultra Styling Hair Gel, Strong Hold for up to 72 Hours, No White Residue, Edge Control, Vegan, Silicone Free - 150 ml https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0036RFMCA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_0TX39BH7W6D2MVFVDJJN
I found it available and cheapest in Boots :)
Ha ha, just today in fact I have a delivery of some of that got 2 be glued stuff coming. I've heard it mentioned quite a bit in videos etc but never tried it as it seems silly to stick it down with hair gel for glue lol.
but, I figured I would give it a try. It would be handy on weeks where perhaps my scalp feels dodgy and i want to remove it at night to let it breathe.
