So this rest stop has a trail on the north side and a St Regis River on the south side.

Was the car found in the southbound rest area? Did they have a dog with them? If they did, I bet the dog tried to get a drink from the river, fell in, and they tried to save it and both ended up not making it.

It has been 10 days and she is still missing. There is a new fb page for updates and to give support and hope to her family, friends and boyfriend. While the search seems to be focusing on the wooded area and body of water around her house, if someone took her she could be anywhere.

More information: As of 9:00 PM EST, Lizzi is still missing. The goal is to spread awareness around the NH area to try and find her and return her safe! She's a friend, hopefully reddit can keep an eye peeled for her.

I don't think so. I check the FindMark.org blog occasionally to see if there's any updates, and there hasn't been anything on there since they put a billboard up in December. The news release says: "While Mark's daughters, Claire and Kelly, and his wife, Julie, desperately want answers to what happened to him, they acknowledge the cancer that's believed to have led to his disapparence has likely claimed his life by now." If you hear of anything, definitely let them know.

Even my little Sawyer purifier handles cryptosporidium and giardia; I did start reading about folks using charcoal tablets to try and overcome the toxins from algae, with very mixed results. It's a little concerning since I have drank out of all manner of springs and puddles all over the Rocky Mountains. Guess I'm lucky to still be here. :)

I never hike without my water purifier in case of emergency. Maybe she had something like this. The story doesn’t make much sense of she’s wrong about her location and you do have to wonder how she’s not weak and doesn’t need to be checked out at a hospital.
